Been busy with the endrunkening process took 4 lots of people out for a drive this morning on various routes and MINI now has a dirty bottom so is it feeling photogenic :(
It would seem that running it is out of fashion, I haven't been redlineing her but she not being treated too gently thats for sure.
Mick took a few pics earlier so they might appear at some point but there won't be anymore till I wash her.

It's quite cute actually :)
Shiny :)
Very shiny. I think it nearly blinded Belmit. :)
Tried to take some more pics after the cleaning today, but decided they'd look naff, so that honour is handed to someone else. :(
Belmit was feeling a tad delicate so just about anything could have caused an adverse reaction from him :)

Strange...
He was a bit delicate on Saturday morning at the OMGWTFBBQ...
Is he allergic to alcohol? :p

You may have a point there as there does seem to be a strong correlation between alcohol consumption and feeling-like-crapness.

Banged on another 90 miles on back roads :), went to the meet this afternoon and met up with 6-7 other MINI enthusiasts and compared cars and took people out for rides again :D
Most people hadn't been out in a Works and were pleased for the opertunity.
Car just keeps getting better and better, really scared the father in law when we droped in on our way back and took him for a blast bloody thing corners like its on rails, miles better than the 172 was if theres an opposite of disappointed then I'm it :)

bloody thing corners like its on rails,
I can concur with this, going round the roundabouts multiple times was interesting *had to hang on tight!*
It's lovely! I think it needs to come and live with me though :)
That's a really nice looking little car... and I instantly love anything with red callipers :D

It sounds fun! Cant wait for a ride
Can we have a picture you you sitting at the wheel? :p
Reading this thread really makes we want to take a trip at lunchtime to the VW garage and empty my bank account. I shall try to be strong (and mildly sensible) though!

I also had to hang on tight a few times. Was great fun though, and I'd do it again. :)

Mini isn't for sale in a VW dealer. ;)

Good job I'm getting a Golf R32 then :)
You don't want one of those :p I saw one in the showroom about a month ago when my dad was looking for a new car. While we were waiting I sat in one and had a fiddle, the build quality wasn't that great. Before that i liked VW, now i don't think i'll get one.
No doubt their engines are good thou, but they need a new interior desiger.
Yes I do want one of those. Build quality on VW's is awesome (so say JD Power and my own personal experience) and although the standard interior isn't fantastic they look great with black leather and a 7" TFT for the sat nav shoved in the centre console.
The V6 in the R32 is one of the best V6's I've ever had the pleasure of red lining and coupled with a very well sorted chassis, 4 wheel drive and a fantastic engine note you end up with a car that I want.
Anyway, this is all a bit OT. So then, Minis :)

Just a shame I've always found the R32 dull to drive. :(
It's a little like the Audi TT in that respect - it's just understeeeeeeer.
Anyway - had the pleasure of being taken out in a Works today at lunchtime *may had borrowed it from his brother* and I threw it around the lanes I use for getting to work.
It's an interesting drive - found it a bit disconnected and had to slow down on the return journey on some of the corners as the rear of the Mini was startign to step out of line a little. Which was worrying.
Still found it uncomfortable and undeniably gay. I could see people thinking "look at that lovely couple" when it was Me and Richard in the car..
Simon/~Flibster
I actually found it quite comfortable (so long as you're in the front seats), but then I have an extreme view of uncomfortable.
'Sitting' in the back of a 2CV with the rear seats removed, from Coventry to Chelmsford. Now that's uncomfortable.

Not having a track record in that area its not something which bothers me remotely, if anyone things I'm gay as I blast past them in the fast lane then I'm not going to get paranoid about it. I know I own on of the fastest B road cars around which both my wife and I love and looks and feels stunning to drive both fast and slow.
BTW if it had JCW seats I'm not suprised it was uncomfortable, they are made for very very thin people.

New Mini is massively less gay than the new VW Beetle.

I was talking from a mans perspective. The Beetle is a very girly car.
I love that spoof advert for the VW Beetle convertible.

If its nice at the weekend I'll wash, clay, polish and seal her and then get some photos in a nicer location :)

I have to admit it is pretty cute.
I can't wait to see you behind the wheel of it though! :p :D
I bet you can't wait to open her up... that must be frustrating!
Pics of the engine bay? Much more interesting tbh ;)

The drivers seat goes very low and a long way back, I don't think I look different from anyone else driving one.

Yes it is but she still gets driven quite hard I just short shift
I'll post some later

Seriously though dude - it looks fantastic. :) I bet you're grinning from ear to ear :)
Short shifiting isn't always so bad anyway.
