You might be able to just make them out as both of them we in their little houses when I was taking the pics :)

:'( give me some credit :( I'm not a total doofus

It was a nice dark green when we got it but after following all the instructions a bright green colour was moving from the bottom of the tree to the top so it was obviously not well.

No tree this year, like the last umpteen years (I do own a plastic one), but at least I've put a few things up this year, unlike previous years. I'm slowly making progress in the battle for floor space, so a tree next year is certainly on the 'to do' list. :)

Now that's just mean. I'd agree fully with him if you'd said that last weekend, but we're in the right month now so decorations are allowed (begrudgingly - bah humbug). :)

He's right as well. 12 days before and 12 days after is the tradition, so next Saturday for the decs to go up, and 6th Jan to bring them down again. That's how I've always done it. Anything earlier is just way too early in my book :)

Same here. Although I had no idea it was next Saturday!
All a bit awkward this year so didn't really notice it creeping up.

Up 1st Dec, down 1st Jan, but this year we were late as we usually do it the first weekend in Dec.

It *is* too early, I just couldn't be bothered with the constant "Can we put the tree up yet?" so I relented early this year.

It's December therefore it's not too early :) I don't get people who are stroppy about this kind of thing. It's for about 3 weeks a year and it's ace.

I don't get people who are stroppy about this kind of thing. It's for about 3 weeks a year and it's ace.

For me it's purely a tradition thing. It's *meant* to be 12 days before and 12 days after. That's what I was brought up with, so that's how I see it. I don't mind it being a few days early if the 12th day is midweek, I'd rather get them up the weekend before, but for me the 1st December is just way too early. Maybe it's because Christmas lost it's magic for me about 15 years ago so I don't feel the "Christmas spirit" any more. So just as you don't get people who are stroppy about it, I just don't get people who put the tree and decs up the moment it becomes the 1st of December (or before for that matter). If you stick with the 12 days tradition the decs are still up for 25 days, would have thought that was enough for anyone myself :)

Mum and Dad fetched ours on Friday and I brought it home yesterday. It's not decorated yet, but we've put it up and are letting it settle before we put the lights on tonight. I've put a test decoration at the bottom to see how Flo reacts and the tree was still upright this morning. We'll see if she can manage to leave it alone today! Our tree usually goes up around the first week in December and comes down before 12th night.

If we're being properly traditional they're supposed to go up xmas eve. ;)

I think I was just brought up putting the decorations up quite late as we always had a real tree and my parents didn't want it dropping needles everywhere so we used to put it up the weekend before xmas. Now that everyone has plastic trees and the shops are decorating as soon as they're done with Halloween I just like to try not to cave in to this modern idea that xmas lasts the whole of December and try to hold out until halfway through the month.

In contrast my grandad would leave the house decorated all year 'round as he couldn't be bothered taking them down ;D

Christmas on the whole might be a bit tricky to do then :p;)

I just follow family tradition, and I have no doubt all families have different traditions :) Whatever makes you happy, live and let live and all that.

I had the pleasure of spending 30 minutes in the freezing cold yesterday waiting for Klara to choose a tree. Now sitting in the corner of the room waiting for her to decorate it on Friday. It's really strange having Christmas tree with no decorations.

We don't have a tree up yet, i'm the only one who has the patience to now and the only one in a fit state to crawl round in the attic. Maybe this weekend, essays will be done by then and i can have my life back.

Well since I was at Paul's this weekend, I didn't actually put the christmas tree up. So Mom went and got it, decorated it and it looked lovely when I saw it on Sunday night. Got home to take a picture of it for here and this is what I found...

Wellll, he is a most likely suspect. Although he wasn't in the room at the time of the murder, he was left at the scene of the crime the night before...... *ponders*

But does he look innocent or not? ..
