View Full Version : Urgent Help!
Hello!
I have my latest CV work in progress and a cover letter in word.docx file on email.
I made the last changes on my bros computer in Vista and need to be able to open/view/amend in XP
Please can someone convert it into something that I can see?
Just been made redundant so need to apply tonight for things :(
Thanks in advance.

You'll need to download the patch for Office that converts .docx into .doc. I'll see if I can find it.

Ah, forgot you were at work. You may want to suggest to your IT team/man/hamster that it be installed, otherwise you'll all have a hard time opening stuff from clients in Office 2007 format!

Ahem in future ;) (http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=online+docx+convert&btnG=Google+Search&meta=)
I'm not sure I'd trust an unknown online service with something as personal as a CV, but then again, CVs get submitted to online recruiting places all the time, so :dunno:

Well you can download converters as well, so no need to worry...? In fact i'm pretty sure MS actually have a converter on their website somewhere its just a stupid site to try and browse.
Me again, sorry guys.
When I opened the file it showed the tracking changes, so I just unclicked 'mark up' and it displayed correctly.
I saved it then sent to my bro and its still displaying the changes.
Tried to follow the help but its not helping :(

That's just a view option - the mark-up will still be present in the document. I'll have a quick look around in Word and see if I can find how to remove the mark-up completely, assuming that's what you want to do.
Here you go, this should help you get rid of them completely if that's what you want to do:
