I need to start watching mine. My father bought me it as a present a couple of months ago for the same price at Zavvi.
Only ever heard brilliant things - never actually watched it.

This along with Band Of Brothers has got to be a boxset to own!
Slightly cheaper on Amazon too! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Complete-West-Wing-Seasons-Disc/dp/B000I8OC08/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1229800403&sr=8-1
Just looks boring to me. Is it all chatting and politics any action in it?

Get to it :p You know how little TV I enjoy, but The West Wing is one of those I love!

It's written brilliantly and the speech between characters often flows as well as the best of poetry. It's all about quality of story and characters.

It is so good, i can safely say that i will not see a better TV series in my life time.
LOL, i am sure i've not kept it quiet, ask pete, he picked one up too :D

well that's both of you off the Christmas card list! ;)
:D I "borrowed" some from the internet and loved it. Boxset just appeared for £50 at the end of Sept so I bought it. Brilliant series. Seen it twice now and there is a definite change when Sorkin leaves. I didn't see it the first time but its easily noticeble the 2nd time through. S2 finale is probably the finest episode. The last 5 minutes are brilliant.

Will be interesting to see if it happens. We're waiting til the sales to see. I never buy stuff this close to Christmas/birthday just in case someone buys me it and I spoil the suprise!! :D
Can't see them knocking more than £5, if anything off it.
If you like this then chances are high you'll like Studio 60 on the sunset strip. Aaron Sorkin's take on the networks and a behind the scenes view of a program like SNL. Very good series, and the 2 main characters are based on himself and his ex, slightly anyway.

Never watched Studio 60 but it has Bradley Whitford from WW and Matthew Perry from Friends. Both excellent actors and ones I admire a lot. Would I be right in saying it didn't do brilliantly on TV?
And £11.97 on Amazon. Bargainous. :D
It was okay but its not a patch on the WW.
It was good - but I was put off by knowing that there wasn't going to be another season :(
Same here. Still well worth a watch though :)

There are quite a few people from TWW in it. Have to say, it was the first time I realised that Matthew Perry could really act. Oh and I still love Bradley Whitford.
If you watch it, look out for the "Bartlet For President" poster on the wall during a flashback scene :D
Studio 60 breaks the laws of reality though. Bradley Witford plays a character in both shows. In TWW he plays Josh and works with the character of CJ played by Alison Janney. In S60 Bradley plays Danny and Alison stars as herself. Studio 60 wasn't cancelled. It collapsed into the black hole it created.

We know ;).;D
Yeah I heard that the reason you posted that was so I didn't buy it before xmas :)
If anyone still have not purchased this, head down to Zavvi now, with their 20% off it's scan at £40 at the til !
Wouldn't matter it would cost more than the saving to get to our nearest Zavvi Now :p
Costs me the princely sum of £0.00p to get to mine though, so if you want anything I'm sure it could be relayed (if they have it in stock, which tbh I wasn't that impressed with when I was there yesterday). :)

May have to think about it. Never really saw any of them, but Studio 60 by the same chap was fantastic.
Still, off to London tomorrow - may have to pop in to Zavvi.

The West Wing is miles better than Studio 60 !
I'm watching this for the first time. We have just finished season 3 and noticed this: http://www.boat-drinks.co.uk/showthread.php?t=10166 getting played in the background towards the end. Proved how unhappy a song it is
bugger - links not hidden by spoiler tags :/
You have to fiddle about with the 'code' to hide links. It's a bit convoluted.

Picked one of these up yesterday from my local second hand dvd and game place. £40 and series 3-7 haven't been removed from their shrinkwrap. It's effectively mint.
DVD 1 watched and I am actually really enjoying it. I'm surprised that it ran for 7 seasons in the US though. Smart and Political... Not the sort of thing that normally runs over there. ;)
