I have a PC the appears to have a problem that admin privileges appear to be revoked when login on with an admin account?
I tried setting up a new user with admin right and have the same problem.
For example, when I run Spybot, anti-virus scanning etc, it comes back and says, You don't have sufficent rights and need to be signed on as an Admin.
Any ideas or ideas how this can be fixed?
Cheers
Is the user a member of administrators and users? I occasionally saw problems in XP where the lowest privilege was given prevalence.

UAC on or off?
That would have been my first question as well. UAC goes off instantly any time I touch Vista for someone.

UAC is on but it's as if it doesn't exist because i would have expected to prompt.
The user is a member of the admin group
It it also a member of the users group?
Dont wait for the prompt, elevate it yourself and see if it still moans.

not as far as i know.. This is just the basic user settings in Vista user control panel.. Not any policies etc..

Agreed, right click (you may need to hold shift while doing this), select Run As. If it's in a command prompt, elevate the command prompt first.

Didn't work. However, SP1 seemed to crack it.
