I like Gin, mostly we drink Bombay Sapphire which makes an exceedingly nice G&T and is much smoother than the more traditional gins on the market, if mixed over ice with a dash of line this is a very nice G&T.

However today I decided to try a different tipple and found this

in Waitrose. Similar in style to Bombay Sapphire but smoother and much more subtle it is an excellent gin and fits in slightly above Bombay Sapphire in my estimation. Where Bombay Sapphire hits you with a very aromatic nose Hendrick has a cucumbery subtleness that is very drinkable but hits you like a Pan-galactic Gargleblaster. I am now quite happily merry after just a coupl or three :)

Yes, well if you are drinking them in pubs they will give you Beefeater or some similar paint stripper by default, however if you ask for Bombay Sapphire you'll get a decent G&T everytime, I probably wouldn't drink anything else in a pub to be honest. Give this stuff a go at home and you'll see how a decent G&T is supposed to taste :)

I like Waitrose, especially boxing in the alcohol section
hendrics is really nice. whap a chunk of cucumber in it and it's about the smoothest coolest thing you can get in a glass.
Martin Miller's and Blackwoods are 2 others that you should try if you haven't.
a friend of mine got some premium tonic water as well. from a quick google i think it was fever tree but i'm not 100%. made a real difference though. if you're willing to spend on the booze you might as well go a bit further and get some good quality mixer too.
We're big Bombay Gin drinkers too! (Well, I certainly am!)
The other night, Picky made us a couple of G&Ts and I asked for a "nice" one (one with proper tonic and Bombay Gin). He decided he would have a cheapy version ("Gordens Jim" - Acquired from our latest visit to Cyprus) as he would be having beer after and so poured out two glasses and tootled off to find the tonic.
Upon returning he'd forgotten which glass he'd poured what in and proceeded to give them a sniff.
Gordens Jim... smells like Undistilled Vodka/engine oil! Easily distinguished! Hehehe!
May have to look out for your suggestion Matt in the near foochure! Sounds like a nice treat :D
I bought my dad a bottle of Hendricks when I worked at Harvey Nicks (staff discount FTW!!), the old bugger's addicted now.
He also drinks Bombay Sapphire and Tanquaray.

Quite partial to an occasional G&T myself. I usually buy Bombay Sapphire but I'll have to give the Hendrick's a try since it comes so highly recommended.

Put a slice of cucumber in it if/when you do.

ooooh - was drinking french-75s on christmas day
champagne
gin
lemon juice
icing sugar
DELICIOUS!
i'm no connoisseur of gin, thats for sure, but have a preference for organic - and always with diet lemonade, not tonic - sacrilege i know!
Swimbo prefers lemonade in hers too. Diet lemonade too, but she's diabetique.

Hendricks is very nice stuff, I think I slightly prefer the taste of Bombay Sapphire as an 'everyday' sort of gin but either is more than acceptable. Tesco was doing 1L of Sapphire for £16 over the festive period which seemed a bit of a bargain to me.
