Yes folks Gamestation are giving away a FREE Guitar controller with Guitar hero World Tour, Kin Bargaintastic.

I got myself a copy of GH WT 2nd hand today from my local shop for 20 quid knowing the deal Gamestation was doing. I plan on buying a copy when I get paid Friday & selling this 2nd hand copy on, Bit long winded I know but I only had a spare twenty on me today & couldn't stretch to New.

I have a rather silly question... Does it mean you get 2 controllers or 1 and it's just the price of the game that's paid? It's just everything I've seen you get the guitar with the game.
With either option I might have a look into it. It's a game I've had my eye on for a whiley now :)

You get the game & 1 controller for 30 summit quid.
I cannot rcommend the game highly enough though, I have GH Legends of Rock & now GH World Tour, There is Untold download content in the way of individual tracks, Track packs including 3 songs & even Full albums. Playing through the game in single player unlocks around 72 tunes with a further 30 in there somewhere.
Also you can use the Guitar with Rock Band 1 & 2.
The way to go with RB1 & 2 is to purchase 2 & then rent 1 as you can spend 400 points to transfer all the tunes from 1 to be used with 2.
Between GH LOR & GH WT & RB1 & RB2 there are Untold tunes to play/enjoy, Some real classics & some surpirsingly good tunes you may not like before but Love to play along to.
Just remembered there is also a Guitar Hero Aerosmith edition which I rented from Lovefilm.

My recommended order of purchase is

Guitar Hero World Tour with Free Guitar.
GH3 Legends of Rock.
Rock Band 2.
Rent Rock Band 1 & Transfer.
GH3 Aerosmith is up to you but I played it through twice then sent it back.

I was thinking maybe you let your sister/daughter/girlfriend play and you stole the achievements :p

I'm going down town today so if I see it will deffo buy. I've played the game before and I'm terrible at it but it was really fun :)

I'd actually put the Rock Band series at the top of the list personally, as I think they're far better games than the Guitar Hero seres (bar Guitar Hero 2 which is awesome). :)

Agreed. I bought GHWT and still own my GH2 and 3. I'm a bit of a part time achieve whore and usually even if a game is pants I will rape the easy points before selling.

GHWT was filth in my drive, even I couldn't bare to continue the world tour with only a venue to go. The GHWT guitar is pretty rubbish as well. The standard GH3 Les PAul is far far superior and quieter.

I'm hoping the newer guitars coming for RB2 are finally a step up to make me move from the Les Paul.

I still use the X-Plorer from GH2, most reliable guitar I've found so far. The Gibson was very good, but I couldn't get on with the RB guitar, just didn't feel right at all.

Well I have a Black Gibson Les Paul which is Completely Awesome but then I have nothing to compare it to.
As for the games I have found Rock Band a lot easier & has more tunes but most of the tunes are pants, I will buy Rock Band 2 & transfer the tunes over though as there are some classics like She sells Sanctuary that I just couldn't be without. I get on well with GH3 LOR & am on my 2nd play through at a higher level, WT seems to have better tunes but more than this is the available download content for both/all titles & the chance to build up an Excellent catalogue of tunes.
I am going to get another copy of GH3 WT though so that I have a spare & new guitar & one with the Slidey button bit on it :cool:
I'll let you know what I think once purchased compared to my Les paul.

Honestly do not bother with the slidey Les Paul, it's the worst guitar of any yet released. I didn't like the Fender released with RB1 but the sliding Les Paul is far worse.

The slider is worse than useless, it's very iffy and unreliable. When you can just hold the fret button for a more accurate solid response it's made the slider useless.

Then you have the strum, I play on Logitech 5500's in surround mode at a minimum of 11 bars on the control panel and the strum squeek was irritating over the noise of the music.

The dream option for me is the strum bar on the RB1 fender on a Les paul ;D

I think one area where Rock Band obviously beats the GH series is in the DLC. The fact that all Rock Band DLC works on both games is a huge deal, where everything previously released for GH2/3 won't work with GH:WT. The standard track list on each game just comes down to personal preference I think. :)

God knows as I am confused by the new post charges & haven't got used to them yet.
I'd guess at around a fiver but others may have a better idea. The guitars are not that heavy & although boxed the cardboard is quite thin, weak & light.

I think it is the White Explorer one mate, Am I still wasting my time ?
I must admit to already being in Love with my BlackPaul (see what I did there :p)
I have no probs at all playinig the slidey bits with the normal buttons so if it is a given that it's Pish then i won't bother.

It depends I suppose how badly you want the World tour drumkit. Otherwise you will end up selling the new les paul (not a bad thing I got £59 for mine on ebay) people always seem to want a matching pair :) Then you have to sell the game as well. I got about £25 for mine.

The white explorer is very good as well, infact in a lot of ways if the wire doesn't bother you it's the best guitar because it doesn't suffer the problems the detachable neck on the les paul gives.

Its just as shame really you can't just buy drums on their own yet, if you could I'd say do that.

If you like the Les paul and need a second, just buy the cheap deal at shopto for aerosmith and then flog the game. You will end up with another les paul for just over a tenner :)
