I'm guessing as I downloaded Hexic 2 through my US account and since then have changed X-Boxes, that's why it's showing up as a trial version now?

Can I put a USB hub on my 360? Is it happy with them? it's just that I've got a fair few USB devices connected to it such as my GH2 guitar, Scene It! controller receiver, original wired controller, play and charge doofer and I really don't want all the wires hanging out of the front.
Doh, didn't think of that! Ah well, it's worth 800pts, I just begrudge MS slightly for it.

Well, Mrs. Feek and I watched 300 last night - It was OK, not a great film but it killed a couple of hours for us.
Not sure it was a good HD test, I really didn't think it looked any better than anything else I've seen. Maybe it's not a good choice in film to showcase HD?

Gutted. Was hoping there'd be some kind of workaround so if (when?) my 360 dies Dee could still play arcade games bought on my account.
I'd stick with the concept of when. I did and it meant I didn't feel quite as annoyed as I could have been.......although I was rather annoyed ;)
I've got about 2200 points at the moment, just annoying I have to buy something I used to have for free.

Are you connected to Live? I had the same problem with all my Arcade games and noticed it was because my connection to Live was dropping all the time.
Nope, I was connected to Live the whole time.
Not had any Live problems in a few days, touch wood.

I'm getting really cheesed off with Xbox Live. It wouldn't let me sign into my profile, so I went to download it again and it constantly says it's not available. Now when I try and sign in it says I haven't completely downloaded my profile. Really?! I wouldn't mind except I have to keep typing the damn Live address and password each time, and if I play any games it will overwrite the achievements when it finally does work. What a gip.
Tried at 1:30am and it was still failing. Finally managed it at 7:15am (and I wasn't up all night trying!).

This is the first time I'd tried logging in since NY but it had my gamerscore correct so not sure why it wouldn't work. All seems to be well now though.
From CES:
BT Vision customers with an Xbox 360 console will gain the option of accessing BT Vision from either the Xbox 360 console or a set-top-box. The service will be available to existing and future Xbox 360 console owners.
That's cool. If that turns out to be true I'd move the existing BT Vision box to the bedroom and gain a slot in the TV cabinet.

I had trouble with my GT after New Year Daz. When trying to sign on it kept saying that my gamer tag was invalid and was only fixed when I re-downloaded my tag.
Still having terrible trouble with xbox live. If it isn't sorted soon I think people will want more than 1 free arcade game.

It's down to my line not being active yet. I'm hoping when the line is active I can use my modem. The guy I spoke to though didn't seem to know too much about it all, so hopefully I'll get someone a bit more knowledgable tonight :)
You *can* use your own router no problem (my folks Sky broadband is currently powered by an old Linksys of mine), but it isnt supported. And to use your own router you still need the sky one in the first place, in order to extract the broadband username and password with a bit of jiggery pokery.

Ah, so he wasn't exactly wrong then. Looks like they use the exact same modem that I currently use myself. No point using my own modem instead then, may as well keep mine as a backup, though I will extract the username and password early in case I need them.
It's a rebadged DG834 yeah. Had a couple of them over the years and never had any issues myself, though the Sky one kept dropping the DSL connection so I switched it.

Wasn't sure how I'd get live TV on the xbox without a tuner but apparently...
As with all BT Total Broadband subscribers the free standard V-box set-top box will be available as well, however, and can stream live or recorded TV to the console over a home network.
That'd work nicely. If that ends up being how it works I may well buy the bigger hard drive.

I've not been very keen on any of the other Spider-Man games, so doubt I'd pick that one up, even for a fiver. Might add it to the Swapgame queue though and play it when it eventually gets to me :)

I've got a Live Vision camera now. I don't really know why, I just have.
There's a free arcade game that works with the camera, Totem Ball. Pants though.
It came with Uno, bloody silly game that is! Strangely compelling though.
For £6 Spiderman 3 is worth it, £10 hmm not so sure, £30 hell no :p
I rented it but didn't get much time to play it so I would have bought it for £6 if I'd had £6 ;D
Well, I lasted more than two years, but I finally ordered a gold Live sub. Prepare to totally own me at COD4!

Just watched a couple of vids from Dark Sector and have to say it looks very very good. The commentary one from IGN is especially good because it shows you proper gameplay one that is definitely going on my rental list.

Not only that, but we have found evidence that Rareware is planning on releasing even more of their back catalog onto Xbox Live Arcade, specifically, Perfect Dark and the original Banjo-Kazooie.

Arse, I was really hoping they'd throw The Warriors in there before they stopped, as it's the only Xbox game I'd keep that isn't currently supported. It had to end some time though, and with over 300 games supported they've done better than I originally thought they would.

I'd quite like Assault Heroes please. If I end up getting the games as well I'll offer it back out with the other games I'd have going.
I'd use assault heros or small arms but Davey can take it first as he's more of a gamer than me so would probably get more use :)
I reckon you'd definitely prefer small arms over the board games Des :)

PM'd three codes out (Leo Des and DP), left Sonic until Pickers and Feek speak up, and I've left the board games Creature in case the person who doesnt get Sonic wants dibs (figure that was the fairest way).
If Pickers was first, pass it that way, Daz. YMF plays a bit of Chess and I think the board games has that so he'd be happy :)
It does indeed (no local 2 player though, which is a studpi choice but what you gonna do).

I'll second that. Though I have the card version. Twice (one is a special edition). :)
Shame the Powerline adapters went (or at least I assume they did) as I've just been left high and dry while trying to replace mine (I'm currently using a 10m cat5 cable taped to the ceiling to get it out the way - not pretty).
They haven't gone yet, I'm using them :) Though that will change this weekend - running a cable out the house so I can ditch them - they're too slow for what I want to do there.
I might keep them for a while then until we find out what's happening with this BT Vision/360 malarkey. If it transpires I can use the 360 as an extender to the V-Box then I may well use them to put said box in the bedroom.
Ah, OK, it all went very quiet about them.
A little tip - plug them straight into the wall if you can - try not to use extension cables and certainly not anything with surge suppression. Guaranteed way to knacker throughput. :)
They're straight in the wall and still not giving me enough bandwidth :(
Still, I'm a purest anyway, I always planned to have a cable to there sooner or later :)

No it can't. FAT only, or you can use HFS+ which is what Macs use. You can get either MacDrive or Transmac installed on a PC and then format away and also read the drive on that PC. The advantage of this is that FAT32 has a 4GB file size limit whereas HFS+ doesn't :)

Ninja Gaiden 2 is easily my most anticipated game, ever. If it's as good as the original, it'll be amazing. If it's somehow better, then I might well do a sex wee :D
My new TV has arrived and I don't have the strength to lift it onto the TV stand :(
Managed to lug it up a flight of stairs which for little old me was impressive and painful ;D And now I have to wait for someone to come home to give me a hand. Grrrr!

I'm going to use VGA for now as I want the PS2 in via component.
With the Virgin box on another scart and I can't remember if the TV has rf output for the n64.
Maybe in a few months I'll manage Virgin+ :D
From what I've read, there's not meant to be a huge amount of difference between HDMI and VGA/Component for the 360. At least not on a 32", but I figured while it's there, I might as well use it.

Well I'd want HDMI because there are 3 ports on our TV and it would free the component up for the dvd player.
When you say RF out do you mean a connection for the N64? It should have an aerial connection which you an stick the N64 on as your tv is from the virgin box through the scart socket.
I hate organising the cables behind our TV it's a mess :(

I think the only game I've really noticed a HUGE difference on is Project Syphleed. I've only got the demo but because so much happens on screen its nice to see it all. Obviously its improved every other game, but thats the only one where it made the game more playable :)
I've got no excuse now when I don't notice an enemy in CoD4 ;D

best bit is you can pretty much get everywhere too :) I'm trying to find that tower I kept seeing him climb in the videos. The view from there must be astonishing.
I wouldn't mind taking a look at AC once I'm done iwth my current games. Will look at hiring it out :)

Not sure if anyone else is interested but Game are currently doing Fifa 06 RTWC and Fifa 06 World Cup for £2.98 each preowned, and Fifa 07 for £4.98 second hand.
Just picked up the World Cup title and Fifa 07 as I figured it's practically the price of a rental :D
Also picked up Prey for £7.99 in Gamestation.
Just switched to using the HDMI port for the 360. The colours are more vibrant but that may be because I've been using a 3rd party VGA cable anyhow.
Still, it's worth the £7 for the cable as it's freed up the VGA connection for when I want to plug a PC into it.

That is ok because I thought that component looked better than VGA ;D
Component is definitely brighter on our telly, but being used to VGA I notice a difference so I've left it. Mine's a higher resolution though so maybe that's why :dunno:
What res do you run it at Daz?
After fiddling around with the colour I've settled on HDMI. The vibrant colours, although at first, very pretty, got a bit painful on the eyes ;D
1360x768, reference levels expanded :) Had the same res on the smaller Sammy, but only had the reference levels on intermediate. Didnt look as right on the 37"

Woot, I finally have my Sky modem (and my 42" LG has arrived as well!), but as Lynne's dad is here putting in a shower and sorting some electrics for us I can't plug it in yet to make sure my line is active. It's not the Netgear router I thought I'd get, but a Sagem F@ST 2504 instead, which are apparantly very good modems (according to the guys at http://www.skyuser.co.uk), but are currently unhackable when it comes to finding out my username and password. Hopefully that'll change soon enough as I'd like to know my details simply so I can use my own Netgear modem as a backup should anything happen to this one.
All being well, I should be kicking some ass on COD4 on my 42" before the day is out :D

Might ring up Sky and see if they can help reduce the ping. According to the Sky Users forum, they can do that if you ask nicely :)

Just downloading the Turok demo. Really enjoyed the N64 version and hopefully this will be as good. Dinosaurs make me cack it. :o

KUF = Kingdom Under Fire. I don't know too much about it, but I try most demos so I'll see what it's like :)
And I'll definitely be watching some HD content on the TV. I've got HD versions of 300, Rush Hour 3 and The Bourne Ultimatum, so I'll just hook up the laptop to the TV and go from there :D

Oh dear me the TV is big! I knew it would be bigger (obviously), but I didn't realise just how much bigger it would be. It's gorgeous as well and everything is easy to reach at the back, a nice change from the last TV. Pics coming tomorrow I hope :)

I know what you mean Davey, in our case though it's great to finally be able to have everything connected at once and use the proper connections.

I haven't been trying as hard lately (excluding the Fifas at the moment), even thinking of cancelling my swapgame subscription for a while as I've had 2 rentals sitting here before Christmas and no interest in playing them.

The early Fifa's are fairly easy points, bar the challenges on the World Cup one, they're a bitch. I wouldn't bother with them unless you like extreme frustration :D
Yeah I probably won't bother with them. Only got it as it was £3 anyhow :D

Does anyone know if it's possible to stream a DVD iso over to a 360 somehow?
I know how to stream avi files etc with Tversity, just not quite sure what to do with a DVD iso :D Other than to mount it on the PC then use dvdshrink to rip it to just the film.

That's all you can do I think Jen, I don't know any way to stream an ISO.

We've been using ours now for around a month, it's only a 250Gb (soon to be replaced by a 500Gb one) and it's been a mixed bag to be honest. Most of the files we have play with out trouble it's just a PIA at times having to keep changing the resolution each time I play a video.
We have found some files play sound but the video remains blank. It's back to the iBook when that happens :(
Bah these things should be simpler, or should I wait till I feel better to do things that involve thought......it's one of the two ;D
I haven't used the external hard drive yet, I tested it with the files already on there but half the stuff wouldn't play anyhow :(
Ultimately I think I might do better connecting the PC up instead, then I've got more options. But I haven't got the ability to play or pause without moving across the room which was kind of the whole point in the first place :D

I might just carry on using TVersity then if it's a problem using the hard drive, or just set up the laptop instead.
Laptop is what I'd like to do eventually. Won't be for a few months yet though, that or maybe even a Mac mini but laptop would probably be more practical.
Me and tversity get on well, everything just works. The new interface looks spiffy too:

I'm just streaming straight to the 360 now, works far better than it ever did with tversity and the only problem I've had is with the .ts files I mentioned in the other thread.
Anyone got a rough idea of how much I could get for what's essentially a 360 core (256mb memory card, no HD)?
Had a look on ebay but it's mainly Premiums on there.
I might know a guy who's interested Jen when you settle on a price :)

it's very good :) easily lost 2-3 hours the last time I played it. The one bad things about COD MP is that each match lasts 10 minutes (well apart from sabotage) so only playing 4-5 rounds and an hour has gone :shocked:

May as well grab it for the sake of 50MB dude, and the 'purchase' will be logged on your account so you can grab it again at any point in future should you want to :)

Agreed. Never finished 3 either but uber fun playing them. Swords, guns, fighting. Can't wait for the demo tomorrow.

Only ever really played the first DMC but I really enjoyed it, I'll defo be giving the demo a spin :)

Quite liked the DMC4 demo. I've not played any of the others so I can't compare but it was good fun.
Not sure if I'd buy it at full price as it seems like it could get a bit repetitive, but on the plus side, I reckon it'll go down in price fast so I'll pick it up second hand then :D

Confirmed by Rockstar themselves.
I gave the DMC4 demo a go last night, had a blast apart from the really bad camera angles in places. They made me cry :( Apart from that was quite good.

I'm finding it rather boring myself as it just seems to be "go here" "do this" "go there" "do that" the only fun stuff is the final kill at the end.
I'm tempted to sell it :( If I'd bought it myself, I'd have sold it by now, but it was a Christmas present and I always try to give presents more of a chance, although my parents always understand either way.

It's incredibly samey. Other games do both the stealth parts and the action so much better. There's just nothing exciting about it that makes me want to keep playing. Oh and the story is ridiculous. :p Really disappointing imo.

aye, i know what you mean and its basically why i couldnt be bothered to find all flags, it had all become boring... so i swapped it quickly whilst the trade in value was still okay, got it traded in for about £7 less than i paid :D
ended up with Ace Combat, which is sat on my shelf and i'll play that again when i finally get my new TV sent over.

I've got over 20 Xbox games and I really feel I should get rid of some of them, but most of them are games I'd either never get rid of (stuff like Dead Rising and Gears of War) as well as games I'll keep until something better in the genre comes along (PES2008 a prime example). There's only a handful of games I feel I could get rid of, and most of them I still want to complete or get more points from :o

Just counted, I've got 23 plus far too many arcade games. Not one of them have I got 1000/1000 in which is the main thing that makes me keep them.
There's probably only about 5 that I'd never sell, but I want to complete the others first before I can sell them.
Trying to 1k Eternal Sonata so I can sell that on. I'll probably sell Mass Effect too when I 1k it.
I can't get rid of Dead Rising either, despite still being total crap at it :p And not playing it for about 4 months :o

Picked up Tomb Raider Legend for £5 preowned in Game today. Unboxed but not bothered about that, enjoyed the demo enough to part with a fiver :)
