nah - a VGA cable has a nice thick cord - could o may more damage :D
Hello Mr. ~J~ - I do believe I owe you some triangles :p

Finding two devices sounds like too much effort - I'm sure a play and charge cable would be equally effective, though I'll grant it requires typing three words instead of one. :p

Well TBH I only want a PS3 for a few titles, mainly LBP, Killzone2, Mirrors Edge and a few on the store titles.
Will still use the 360 as a primary console, but there's more and more titles coming out on the PS3 that are interesting me and the ridiculous price that it was is now more justifiable.
Can't get that many games, still busy as hell at home, last time I had even an hour on the 360 was about July time :'(

Mirrors Edge is available on 360 too ;)
True, but I've heard the PS3 version is 'better'

No, I disagree. Who did you hear that from, Nanoman, rp2000, wwwebber?
It's a nightmare on the PS3 pad. The joysticks just aren't sharp enough. Plus, you can download our ghosts and race us over Xbox Live. I've played the PS3 version and there is nothing in terms of graphics or sound other than Xbox360 is likely to get more DLC if anything (as is the case with a LOT of games now).
I also played Killzone 2 at the LAN for the first time, my goodness is it average and the delay between button press and action borders on criminal. Sure it looks pretty (although I don't think it looks as pretty as many say - it's pretty much a very, very limited colour pallette). I'd be surprised if Resistance 2 wasn't better and I've played many better FPS games over the last 12 months than that. LBP is good, but as a single player game it's quite boring, sure the levels are good that you can download but you're talking 50 crap ones to one good one and most are just there for people to get trophies (Sony's awfully executed Achievement alternative). Clever game, but I've played flash games that rely on very similar principles, but LBP does have a brilliant protagonist in Sackboy. I've not touched the game in around 2 months though.
As Psymonkee said, Mirror's Edge is on the Xbox360 and I know it has DLC available. Fallout 3 is on both, but Xbox360 has 3 excellent DLC chapters (only 1 has been released, next is start of March then next end of March) and they are exclusive to Xbox360. Same for GTA4 DLC The Lost & Damned. I believe Tomb Raider also has exclusive DLC for example. I can't think of any PS3 games that have exclusive DLC. For me in the period of time you've been away the Xbox360 has moved on leaps and bounds and the PS3 really hasn't offered anything other than a HOME beta which is possibly the most dull thing ever - you can currently play chess... and that's it.
I am a fan of my PS3, aside from it's limited software, poor exclusives, less DLC, poorer ports (Fallout 3 and Resident Evil 5 are 2 new games that are still guilty of this), inferior online system and godawful control method, it's great at media playback and is my system of choice for playing downloaded AVI files.
Mirrors Edge was my goty 2008 and I'm a 360 fan boy so it can't be that bad.
:)
Hmmm ok, but I really wanna play LBP!!!!
Anyway, any thoughts on a TV to get? 32" 720 or a 37" 1080? I aint got a clue.

LBP is not the be all and end all of gaming, it was another game massively over hyped by that lot firmly in the Sony camp. Several of us here own it.
I would personally always go bigger, but a great 32" is better than an average 37" TV.
Was looking at the LG 375000

http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/Sony-KDL40W4000/Conclusion/ "Regardless of these flaws, at this time of writing the Sony KDL40W4000 remains the best LCD HDTV – in terms of both picture and sound quality – we've reviewed in 2008."
OK, well serious head on now regarding this TV thing.
NEED to get a new TV anyway and for the most it'll be used for gaming and watching films from the laptop, all via HDMI.
99% of LCD's that I've seen have 3 HDMI ports which is perfect (1 for 360, 1 for PS3, 1 for Laptop).
I can't have a TV 'too' big, 37" is really hitting my limit because my room is so small so it's not as if I'm gonna need a huge TV because I'm sat several metres away. I'd reckon at the most I'll be 6 foot away from the screen when laid on the sofa watching it.
The 720/1080 can of worms I appreciate is always open to debate, however, what I believe to be factual is that while 99% of people are saying play the 360/PS3 on the 720 setting if the screen does NOT do 1080p (don't use 1080i) but there's is an advantage to going 1080p if the TV supports this. Is this correct?
Likewise for the films from my laptop and perhaps day-to-day work or surfing, I'd get a far higher vertical resolution if I go the 1080p route. Whether this is true or not, I've been told the PC input will NOT allow a resolution to be upscaled to 1080i.
Make and brand, I'm not into that. Obviously I want reliability, don't want the damn thing to go kapput in a years time, but would like something that has a nice bright screen and shows jet blacks and brilliant whites.
Dolby pro bollocks or SBS with doofer whatsits and all that malarky really don't interest me. I don't shout out gaming or films, 9 times outta 10 I'll have headphones on so as long as there's a headphone out, I'll be happy.
Don't understand why a TV would need USB, PCMCIA slots.
Only thing I can grasp in my tiny little none-tv-snob mind is the higher the contrast ratio then the more brighter the screen will be (or vibrant, is that a good word to use) and the refresh rate wants to be semi decent so as to not have ghosting.
Don't understand why a TV would need USB, PCMCIA slots.
Some TVs (a lot of the higher end Samsungs, Pioneers et al.) will let you plug cameras/memory cards directly into the TV to view pictures etc. If you're plugging in a laptop anyway then that feature is probably irrelevant.

Don't know how important it is to you Jason, but Lost Planet 2 has just been confirmed as another Xbox360 only exclusive.

You'll be wanting plasma then, cos LCD can't do 'jet black'.
