View Full Version : Touch HD!!!
It arrived yesterday and its beautiful, nicest phone I've ever had. I'm not too great at writing reviews but if you want to know anything about it I'll happily post some info/pics.

Snap. A friend in work has the Touch HD and it's beautiful, but at the same time I love my iPod Touch and hate carrying two devices around with me, so leaning towards the 16GB iPhone 3G as my next phone. Shame I can't get it until around September though :/

I'm 12 months into an 18 month contract with Orange they won't consider upgrading me till 15 months so I have a while to wait :(

ditto. if orange have anything worth considering then an upgrade might be possible around may time for me i think. but i'm certainly considering the switch to O2, but that'd be as late as August.
all depends on developments in the iphone for me - i want to see a new version, there will be one soon (soon being Q3 i rekon)
but anyway - i wanna see pics of the Touch HD!

Which network and what sort of contract did you get it with? (Assuming you didn't just spend £500 on it)
Orange coverage has been crap for me, come renewal time I'm hopping back to O2 regardless of what I'm offered.
As for the Touch HD, I could have held out for it, but for me size is still one of my main criteria so going for the Touch Diamond was best for me. The THD does look damn nice though.

At a guess, Orange on a Dolphin contract or something similar to that. Not sure how available the Touch HD is on other networks.

Upgrade on Orange. 600mins, U/L texts and 500MB of data for just under £25/mo.
And £125!!!!
It comes with an 8GB card too :)
That was with threatening to leave as I had seen it for free, 600mins, U/L texts and Web n' walk for £35 on T-mobile on a dodgy website.
urggh orange.
£125 blimey, they do look nice though.
I have my upgrade with Orange on 7th March, no idea what I want really, am quite happy with my W810i, might give the Touch HD a bash I guess, could always sell it for a pretty penny if I don't get on with it :)

18 month contract? I'm saving £235 over the whole contract then ;)

Waiting for the Touch Pro 2 now.
Touch HD screen with the Touch Pro keyboard...
I'm due an upgrade in June I think and it will be between the Touch Pro 2 or the iPhone.
Not sure when the Pro 2 is likely to hit the streets as can't find anywhere offering it yet :(

I have my upgrade in 5 days, getting the 16gb iPhone.
Called up o2 yesterday and they said "we can't give an upgrade even a day early on the iPhone, call back in 6 days"
I don't think I'll be able to get it cheaper either, so thats £155 on the handset.
I got mine 2 weeks ago from Phones4U on Orange.
£35 a week, Unlimited texts, 600 mins and £5 a month more for internet and a free phone.
Also 10 months half price line rental so £175 back by redemption by 4 cheques over the 18 month contract. So £455 over the whole 18 months + £5 a month internet. I didn't think this was too bad.
I love the phone and I'm still playing with it but I'm not overly impressed with the Orange coverage so far but it's good 'enough'.
It syncs great with my hotmail account, the gps with tomtom is fantastic and it's good to have 8GB for photos and mp3s (also many many wma pro files so it's good to see it work with these too).
If you're not aware there's some great discussion on the phone here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=451
