Had this last night as we were having tortelinni and sauce and we'd forgot to buy garlic bread. Was really scrummy even if it is a scaffs way to make it so thought I'd share :)

Ingredients-
sliced bread
butter
garlic

Method-
1. chop up a few garlic cloves
2. melt some butter in a pan
3. add the garlic
4. bread in toaster
5. pour the buttery/garlicky mixture over bread

et voila! :)

I know there's nicer ways of doing it, etc but it literally took about 2 minutes to make!

I'll have to remember that for garlic bread emergencies, thanks :D

Hmm, that's probably a healthier way to have garlic bread than using one from a shop. Noted, thanks :)

This is the only way i've ever made garlic bread. Buy a french loaf, put slices most of the way through it and then crush garlic and mix it in with butter cold (or warm doesn't really matter). Spread inbetween slices cover in foil put in the over or under the grill for few minutes let it all melt nice. For the last few seconds unwrap the foil let it toast a little. Finish cutting the slices and serve up crusty french galric bread. Totally perfect for lasagne's.

That's what i do, but about 20-25mins in the oven. And I don't unwrap. I hate all the namby pamby herbs in shop stuff.

That way looks a lot nicer but we only found out we had nothing to eat with the sauce about 5 minutes before sitting down to eat. ;D

Shove some sliced up caramelised red onions between the slices too!

Just made it to go with a chili, surprisingly very nice! Didn't realise how simple it would be. Ta :)

To be fair i've done the same kinda thing with slived bread when times are really hard. Lightly toast the bread smear the garlic butter and stack them, cover them in foil same over trick without unwrapping this time. When done slice up into triangles.

We do this sometimes, I prefer it as I loooove garlic and garlic bread just isn't that strong.
I think on tiger bread its nice and maybe put some herbs on too :)
Pheebs I will try the onions too sounds lovely.

Yup, that's how I do it, I add a slice of cheese as well though and sometimes add a few finely chopped chilli's

I do what most people have said put using one of those part baked baguettes. A little bit of olive oil in the butter/garlic mixture helps too.
