Shamelessly nabbed. Just seen that google maps streetview is live. Bloody brilliant! Now you can actually show someone where a place is, more importantly you can track down restaurants again. I'll start with a really cracking Italian

Already used it in anger today. We survey a lot of houses in london and have to do sketches. Sometimes they don't make sense, so now we can go have a look at the front and that helped sorting out an entrance location :cool:

Ok I have a blonde question, um how did they take the pictures from the middle of the road when there are cars and lorries in the road in some of the pics. Do they send a person out to take all the pics, or is it done via a clever satelite. (like if I walk down my road, theres a renault megane, and a tesco home delivery van)

I just googled my street and the picture is right outside our house, I can from this tell you it was a Tuesday in September most likely and there was no one at home.

They just said on the news that some of the images have had to be taken down due to privacy issues, one showed a man going into a sex shop, and another showed someone being sick. Did the sex shop man google himself to see if he'd been caught or something?

i fail to understand hte privacy issues of something that you can be seen doing in the street. it hardly gets more public, it's just your humiliation is there for the world to see!
