Just had an phone call from my brother-in-law to tell me my sister gave birth to a bouncing baby girl at 5:25 this morning (UK time) . No detail of weight and stuff just yet, just all is good. From what I could hear in the background she certainly has a good pair of lungs on her :)

My parents are going to love being grandparents!

The only thing that sucks is the huge distance now between me and them :(

On a positive note I've had the pleasure of being an uncle to Lana's two utterly adorable nieces, one is 3 and the other is 5, plus her sister has a third on the way :)

We don't see our niece that often, every 3months maybe and they only live 80miles away.
Its hard with Josh being at school and us being the only ones that go visiting but when we do go we usually stay a few days so we get lots of time with them.
Think last time we saw them was xmas :/

Congratulations Unky Garp and Auntie Lana. It's a shame they are so far away but digital photos and webcam will keep you in touch and when she is older I bet she'll be super keen to visit her cool Uncle & Aunt in Hawaii high-five-O!

A quick update via my mother. My niece is called Leah Amy, and she weighed 7lb 1 1/2oz. She's light in part because she's a couple of weeks early.

7lbs 1 1/2 oz is very light compared to my heffalump Ella but thats no suprise eh? almost 12lbs (its feeks fault!!!) but really thats a good weight especially for a baby a couple of weeks early.
Hows mummy doing? Leah Amy is a lovely name and I agree about her loving the idea of you living in hawaii, just think she can visit every summer :D

Mummy is doing fine last i heard, haven't really had much opportunity to speak to folks back home, not going to get a chance for a few days either unfortunately (joy of time zones and prior commitments.) Everyone back home is more than a little busy too :)
She went into the early stages of labor around 10am on Friday, but things didn't really kick in until around 11pm, and was admitted to hospital at 2pm. Bit of a long day for her :)
