Right boys & girls - after the instant success amongst family and friends that is LIPS, we're looking to get hold of Rock Band 2 so we can basically mess about, sing, "strum", drum and listen to music....

Upon quickly searching around I can't seem to find anywhere that sells the "band kit" and the rock band 2 game....

1) Am I missing something or is it not released yet or...?

Also for the quickfire round:

2) if one buys the original rockband ontop of RB2; can you then play all of those extra songs?

3) Can you transfer the songs from RB/RB2 to kareoke in LIPS?

4) If you buy the solus game of guitar hero/ world tour, can you use the rock band instruments to play those games?

There's so much information out there on Das Interwebbenduwerdesteinekrankenschwesterbrauchen that seems to often conflict, contradict and ultimately confuse me!

1) There is no band kit for Rock Band 2 yet as far as I can remember, there is for the first game though.

2) You can pay 400 MS points to transfer all the songs from Rock Band 1 to Rock Band 2. They integrate into the career there as well :)

3) Nope, unfortunately not.

4) Yup, those instruments work fine on all Guitar Hero games, and vice versa :)

Rock Band 2 instruments have not been released yet. Rumour has it ASDA are selling off their stocks of Rock Band 1 instrument packs (Drums/1 Guitar/Mic) at £50 :)

From deep within the menus of Rock Band 1 there is an option to export these songs to Rock Band 2 for a cost of 400MS Points (Licensing issues)

RB -> Lips is a no go.

RB Instruments work on GH games and vice versa with he exception of the RB Guitar

The Guitar Hero instruments are better, so I'd get those drums, I've never used them, but heard many people say

You can buy Rock Band 2, rent Rock Band one, for 400 points (about £4.50) transfer all the songs from Rock Band 1 to your HDD and play them in Rock Band 2, which is a fantastically cheap deal.

Getting songs to lips is a bit of a no, but the DLC for Lips is epic anyway, so you can always buy more.

Great tips there thanks guys :D

I love the ease of downloads for lips - I'm just a bit dissapointed there aren't many cheesey classics you would imagine perfect for a kareoke game: Tracks from GREASE, bruce springsteen, cheesy power ballads, ride around sally, Elvis, Oasis et al - you all know the ones!!

I'm hoping the DLC library will be an ever-increasing source of downloads- i don't mind paying whatsoever, I just would like a vaster library!!

Going to pop into asda soon to have a hopeful look then :)

I think the library will continue to grow for a long time yet. Lips is one of the main Xbox360 games and MS are really pushing it.

That's good to hear - and they can certainly make a fortune out of it I'm sure :)

I'll certainly be paying! :D

FYI There was a recent Lips update which came with confirmation that the microphone will be supported by Rock Band 2.
