View Full Version : Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
As our story opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton-and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she’s soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers-and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead.
What a fantastic combination! I think there's a good chance I shall be ordering this (http://irreference.com/pride-and-prejudice-and-zombies/).
Could happen.

I approve!
That would be pretty cool :D
Why are all zombie movies set in the present day? What would be cool would be to see some zombie movies set years back, maybe in the first world war or something.
Watch Army of Darkness AKA Evil Dead 3: The Medieval Dead. Superb film!
^^ agreed. I loved that film!
We're useless at fighting off the hungry hordes even with shotguns, machine guns and grenades; using just a shield and sword would be for the hardcore! :p
Sounds fun though I'm not a big book person. If there is a DVD or game from the book then it would be an interesting prospect.

Someone e-mail Romero and suggest it :D

Bruce Campbell, his chin and chainsaw did just fine.
I'm unsure about the way zombies 'work' thanks to damn films like 28days later and resident evil... I would decide against a chainsaw you see, thinking that being splattered with their blood would infect me...
I'd like some kind of WWII bunker with a sniper rifle hole and trapdoor to a subway kitchen...

C'mon, get with the programme Jingo...

There is no way to know how Zombies will work, one can only ensure that one has suitable protection for any eventuality. The Zombie apocalypse could occur through any number of means, be it rage virus a la 28 days later that can be spread by even a splatter of blood; or Vodou where dead people are under the control of an evil sorcerer; or Romero style Zombieism which only re-animates the dead (so they have to kill you first..)
That's why it's important for local government to educate all citizens in the essentials of Zombie survival; and ensure that suitable equipped and stocked shelters are provided within easy access of any location.
The continued attitude of government to ignore these serious risks is appalling. Burying their head in the sand does not make the threat any less real, and any less serious.
Every household should have a "In case of Zombie Apocalypse" plan.
I'm disappointed in the lack of zombie survival plan in my workplace.

You've just reminded me to email Environmental Services as we have not got one as well.
We don't have a plan in place either. But I know where the guns are ;D
Wayhay!
It's on Audible :D
Complete with romance, heartbreak, swordfights, cannibalism, and thousands of rotting corpses, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies transforms a masterpiece of world literature into something you'd actually want to read.
I already have it in my 'auto buy' list :)
I was looking at the book on amazon the other day. Come payday it will be on order :)
