View Full Version : Its time X360
Well I've had some good news today and its time to get an xbox 360 after an age of faffing around. Apologies for yet another thread on x360's. I didn't want to gate crash another thread.
I've just spotted an xbox 360 elite for £210 with the following stuff:-
Forza 2 Motorsport
Need for Speed: Pro Street
Pro Evo Soccer 2009
Project Gotham Racing 4
Condemned 2
Gears of War 2
Also has play and charge. The unit is four months old. In my mind this deal looks good
Things to check? Original receipt or this this not needed for the returns?

I believe returns are done via the serial number of the console :)
Had a bit of a read around to check and you're right, thanks :) Can't seem to beat that price (or come near it) so I'll give the seller a prod.
Make sure the console hasn't been modded and/or banned. That message should have got through by now but you never know.
:party1:
Its off via the courier tomorrow. If I'm lucky then i'll be gaming by the weekend. Time to check out COD 4 and another one I've seen that's good as well.
Make sure you post your gamertag :D
Expect a post on how I do that :D
You just tell us what it is and add it to your forum profile. :)

Trade in Pro Evo 2009 and get Fifa 09 instead, get Gears of War 1 and go through that before you play the sequel, and along with COD4 you'll have enough to keep you going for ages :)
You're more than welcome to borrow a few of my games Z. Haven't got a massive library but enough for you to play about with :)

Excellent :D Givvus a list.
Does anyone remember the game where you can pick up random weapons and beat people up? I seem to remember something about a precinct and then using baseball bats/frying pans??
dead rising? Set in a mall I think
That's the one! My list is growing.

Dead Rising can be had dirt cheap.
Also, you must pick up:
The Darkness
Gears of War
Mirror's Edge
Crackdown
It's also bloody hard to play. I'm not particularly bothered about the game itself but I was hoping it would be easier so I could have lots of fun smacking zombies upside their heads with frying pans, golf clubs, benches, and anything else that comes to hand, but it wasn't to be. :'(
Haven't found a copy of Crackdown yet. The others seem to turn up everywhere.
Don't forget XBLA. Loads of fun stuff to be found lurking around the Marketplace.
Just checked out the darkness, that looks awesome. Cheap as well!
You'll have to bear with me on games etc. The last console I brought was a megadrive ;D Still play it too.
In chelmsford we only really have Game, HMV. The other place that seems cheap is ebay.
Got it all plugged in earlier and had a quick go. Impressed so far. Created a tag of "xanem" :)
Davey might have been onto something with PES, it's not even been opened, still in the cellophane :D
Glad you're enjoying so far :)
Just fired off a friends request :D

Got it, just ran downstairs and confirmed. Now I have an xbox I had better start looking at some games. Just off for a quick game.
edit:- I will add the first time in GoW the pad vibrated like mad I almost jumped out my seat :D Forgot they did that.

If you're into your football, buy Fifa 09.
If you're into your life, don't by the Ultimate Team add-on for it.

Couldn't agree more!
Sent you a friend request Matt :)
Accepted Davey, noticed you've been playing Fifa again ;)
Well I got the original gears and dead rising. I've had a quick blast of NFS and Forza as well. This is coming from an avid PC gamer, the PC at the moment doesn't come close to the gameplay. I was getting seriously bored with PC gaming, there was bugger all new coming out worth playing imo. Certainly mouse games like C&C can stay on PC, but those have been dumbed down.
Might be due to a newer box, but this xbox does not sound like a hoover. The controller certainly was intuitive, and I was able to use it fairly quickly without issue. This surprised me as I have two analogue sticks, one d-pad, four buttons, two triggers and two top buttons ;D I'm impressed with the net functionality of the device, especially game downloads. Click, leave and come back later, easy (set the device to power itself off). Not sure on the new dashboard, but it works ok. I played the demo of the new CoD and I want it :D Still can't hit a barn door as the aiming takes some time getting used to.
A very good investment. Certainly had a go of a few others previously and didn't fancy the games which is why I waited for so long to get one. So pretty much a convert, which I am surprised with. It's clear where the development money is being spent at the moment.
Now get your backsides online so I can beat you all :D
I've had one for four months and I still can't hit a barn door. :D
Agree with the rest though. Some games take a while to 'get' the control method with. Others just work. My last console was a PSOne which I owned for all of a month before selling it on. Before that, it was an Atari 2600, so I'm certainly no console gamer. :)

/minor OT
I have to admit I was a religious PC gamer until the 360 hit....I had an xbox 1 already for my burnout/thps fix but the 360 just dragged me in. I don't think I would have bought 2 (yes two) TV's & untold numbers of games if it didn't :D

Will add you now :>

Continuing the OT i too didn't really touch consoles (apart from final fantasies and god of war) until the PS3/360 hit. Main reason for this is online tbh, after experiencing a gaming machine capable of online gaming you just won't accept any less. With consoles now having more games that interest me without compromising via losing online it just became a no brainer.
