Got to go for a Brawn victory on this - I don't think the Red Bulls will even be their main challengers. Brilliant in the rain, but nothing special in the dry - so far. Maybe after Barcelona they'll step it up a gear.
Hoping for a bit more from McLaren this weekend and more of the same from Ferrari :)

That looks like a seriously fast track, 3 good long straights then 1 medium sized one.

Can lap records only be set during races?

Lap Record: M Schumacher 1:30.252

2005 Pole Lap: F Alonso 1:29.848

Cars use around 2.6 kg/lap at Bahrain.

Will be interesting to see how the Brits do then, as they have exactly the same fuel load, just different cars.
Think Button might have Vettel early on, but it could be interesting if Sebastian can keep Button behind him, as he can stay out longer.

Heres to a good race! :)

I think Button will have more issues with Hamilton and his KERS system before he can start worrying about Vettel, who certainly has potential to be very quick.

Yup, top race. Despite my prediction above, I was surprised at how well Button did despite qualifying 4th - not sure whether the other cars made mistakes, or whether the Brawn car really is that good, but the margin of victory was considerable for a fourth place start. Good stuff.

Cracking race, really enjoyed it. The first couple of laps were especially exciting and the start was fantastic. Amazing to see just 1 DNF too, especially as a few people were worried about how the Brawns would cope with the heat. Button did the same as he did in Australia - got his toe down when the others went into the pits, which gave him a good enough advantage to win. Some great driving from Vettel too.

Felt really sorry for Webber though after having his final qualifying lap wrecked by Sutil!

McLaren escape with suspended ban
Lewis Hamilton's McLaren Formula One team have been given a suspended three-race ban for deliberately misleading stewards at the Australian Grand Prix in March, the FIA said.

Team principal Martin Whitmarsh attended the FIA hearing in Paris after McLaren were charged with five counts of bringing the sport into disrepute.

"Having regard to the open and honest way in which McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh addressed the World Motor Sport Council and the change in culture he made clear is taking place in his organisation, the WMSC decided to suspend the application of the penalty it deemed appropriate," the FIA said.

"That penalty is a suspension of the team from three races (in the world championship).

"This will only be applied if further facts emerge regarding the case or if in the next 12 months there is further breach by the team

So good news all round, only if they mess up again in he next 12months will they get a 3 race ban.

Yeah I think this is about right. McLaren will have to be pretty stupid to allow anything else like this happen to again.

Personally I think they got off quite lightly.

Well, they were pretty stupid to let it happen in the first place. Same with 'spygate'. McLarens ability to do stupid things at inopportune times is unrivalled.

Personally I think they got off quite lightly.Did you seriously expect Bernie and Max to do anything significant to McLaren / Mercedes? They have a gravy train to try and keep on the rails.

On the silly side of F1...

Someone I know from a podcast has recorded a song for Massa.

This afternoon - BBC Tees played a section of it to Rob Smedley - Massa's Race Engineer... :D

It's flown by.

I have got my Ratzenberger cap sat on top of one of my monitors at the moment and next to it is my Senna JPS Lotus one.

They'll stay there all weekend.

15 years?
I avidly watched F1 back then, I remember carrying food through for the Sunday roast with the F1 on as I walked past when I saw that and stopped to see what was happening :(
