The greatness of my job is showing already! :p

Hello all,

The Outdoor Academy of Sweden has extended an offer to our staff to participate in their Summer Program which takes place in Swedish Lapland from 10-14 June 2009.

This is not a Cotswold training event, but a great opportunity they have offered to us as an outdoor retailer for staff to participate in an amazing course, experiencing Scandinavia in summer and learning about outdoor kit. At this time of the year, above the Artic Circle, you will have the unique opportunity to experience constant daylight- the Midnight Sun!

The invitation is open to everyone to apply, but you will need to pay for the cost of the course (150 euros which covers everything in Sweden) and arrange and pay for your own transport to Stockholm. It also means you will need to take some of your holiday entitlement to go on the course.

If you are interested in going, please send me an email and I can pass on the application details and further information to you. To give you a taste, see the information below and itinerary for the trip. Booking deadline to OAS is 30 April 2009.

If you have any questions or want more information, please get in touch.

Kind regards,

Sarah Winnard
Training Manager
Cotswold Outdoor Ltd

And taking holiday isn't a bad point... I get 28 days :D

Sounds like it should be a lot of fun, I don't know what Swedish Lapland is like but Finnish Lapland is pretty cool in every sense of the word. :)

This was an offer sent to us via a different company :) It's an "if you're interested, then here's the offer" sort of thing.

The company (Cotswold) are sending me on a training thing next week to Brecon, and possible to Norway in October :D

There's some nice walks in the Beacons although none too challenging by Scottish standards. The Cotswold in Brecon is pretty new too, only opened last Summer iirc.
