View Full Version : Search fail - help needed
Help! What is the proper name for the grey bitty non-slip lining stuff they put on outside ramps. I need a name and if possible a website with an example photo and maybe price of it - I'm sure you get it in rolls.

I used some griptape intended for skateboard use in the footwell of our trackcar. Was only a couple of quid on ebay

It's just stick back fine sandpaper really isn't it?
//Edit: Its not the same but a little googling reveals you can buy stuff (http://www.tiledepot.us/sealers-and-care-products-110/anti-slip-118/) in tins! Thats pretty cool. Essentially searching for Anti-slip floor coating/mat/tape brings up quite a bit!
//Edit2:This (http://www.paco-systems.co.uk/tapes.html) is what youre after :)
and more (http://www.apetape.co.uk/index.php?app=gbu0&ns=catshow&ref=antislip-tapes&sid=3r017n2a94ott58377k6n3r29v994008)
I think I know what Tak is referring to and it isn't a tape. I'm guessing it's for work so ghetto solutions won't work either.
Sadly, I don't have a good answer to the question.
The stuff I'm thinking of is exactly like the stuff Alex linked to here (http://www.apetape.co.uk/gbu0-prodshow/anti-slip-antislip-tape-safetywalk-safety-grip-non.html)but is bigger in size, not tape but more like a big sticky mat.
Yup, true - that's the one I'm thinking of too.

I think i know what you mean, like on wheelchair ramps? As Belmit says its just a "large" version of what i linked. It slightly sparkles and feels like sandpaper right?
There a big version (http://www.suregrp.com/suregrip-non-slip-surface.html), how about that :p
And removes your kneecaps if you fall on it.
like on wheelchair ramps?
That is what its going to be for; the new ramp going from the conservatory to outside - the director wanted to put astro-turf on it :confused:
Thanks for the links - I've sent them to him and said that is the sort of stuff we need on it

As i said before as well its like a coating you can buy in tins it seems which is probably a cheaper solution :) Check that out too. Basically i did a lot of "anti slip floor coating" and "anti slip floor mat" searching with slightly different wording i even through wheelchair in there a few times :p Gets you loads of stuff, have a look :)
