What do people think about this idea?
I think we are builing enough interest to maybe do a meet centered around photography and post proccessing.
My suggestion would be a weekend with a trip out on the Saturday in the morning to a decent location, maybe a zoo or wildlife park (if it were here I would suggest Howletts and Port Lymme followed by the beach at Hythe) then a town for the afternoon light and back to do some post pro and drinking, then a morning shoot and back for more post pro and a slide show of people's best shots?
Its a fledgling idea at the moment but it would give people a chance to try different lenses and cameras, exchange ideas and get tips.
I wouldn't foresee it being a big or expensive thing just a handful of us and partners with a take out in the evening.
What do we think?

I'd definitely be interested depending on the when.
I should actually be on the rig now but it's still in the shipyard for maintenance and I'm not likely to be needed out there for a while. The result of this is that I'm likely to be skint for quite a while unless I can get a bit of work in the North Sea to tide me over. I'm waiting to hear from the office. They switched us back from salary + day rate to full day rate (damn recession) which means, if I'm not working, I'm not earning so the belt will need to be tightened until I'm back on the rig on a regular basis (will be fine once we get drilling this next well but that won't be for about a month yet - and then it'll be my time off and the other guy will be out there). If there's nothing doing in the North Sea, I may have to find some sort of temporary normal job local to get some money coming in
I reckon Picky will be interested in this! I would happily pop along as a tag on partner and just to nosey at some of the things going on (although I am sure I would understand very little ;D)
Boo Stan to job worry :(
Hmmm, tough one MB. My problem is, I prefer shooting people.
As much as I would love to go to a wildlife park/zoo, I just wouldnt really get into the togging side of it, I would just want to look at the pretty animals :D
I think the mini meet at Chester worked really well, just a small bunch of us chatting and swapping kit whilst everyone else was getting drunk :D Maybe it could form part of a bigger future meet?
That post was no help whatsoever was it :(
there would be plenty of people at a zoo to street shoot Dee :)
Depends how much you can tolerate n00bishness. I have one hell of a lot to learn on all fronts. :)

And again, Pheebs hits it on the head! From your staged photos, and your not-staged ones, I think you'd be a natural at Street photography.
I'll come along as a model.

Emo by proxy? :D
I'd love to attend something like this, I've only recently started getting confidence with my camera outside and it would be great to meet up with other dslr users. :)

I'd be interested, depending on the where and when obviously :)
