View Full Version : Need some Shotgun oil

Alreet guys....

I need to get my hands on some shotgun oil (and an oil cloth) but have no idea where to get some more... last place i got some was back in chester, where there is a gun shop.

Over here in sheffield i've never found a gun shop or anything similar and can't think what other kind of shop i might look for - any ideas?

Surely Sheffield, famed for its metalworks, has an abundance of this sort of thing?! My first port of call would be a tweedy type shop where they sell fishing gear and hunting knives and whatnot.

I remember asking a question about five years ago to a friend when we were at a range.

"Jonathan, how do you keep your oily rag oily?"
*pause*
"I put oil on it"

Any bit of rag will do as an oily rag, you can use something lint free if you like but I've never bothered, I just oil a rag!

As for gun oil - I assume you've googled for gun shops in Sheffield, if there are none nearby then I'd be buying online.

if it were for a shotgun then yes, but its actually for my putter (yes i play golf) - a gun metal build, if anybody knows anything about putters then its a 1997 Scotty Cameron Te I^3 Santa Fe (bit of a test on chemistry also :p)

just opened that link and came up with "No Results To Display" - couldn't help but laugh.


I put this out on twitter also, and despite a friend of mine being on the inside at the council, and never failing to answer a question about Sheffield.... he didn't respond. lame. will have to go for a few beers tomorrow and get some info direct.

I've just spent a happy couple of hours sorting out all my air cartridge stuff and oiling my TACs :)
