It is the day of reckoning for the Toon.

I have said since last November that we were for the drop but it all hinges on the last game.

****ing bricks ...........

I have a christening to go to as well for a member of the extended family that I don't want to go to ..... :(

i think from the guide I saw in the paper you guys have the safest route as I don't really see Sunderland or Hull beating either of their opponents.

Fingers crossed for the Toon - my adopted city.

My team are involved in a nail biter today too. My team, the Bhoys (Celtic) have to beat the Jambos (Hearts) at home and the Huns (Rangers) need to lose or draw away to the Arabs (Dundee United) for us to win the SPL.

Easy.

I'm off soon to get some beers in for the match. The sensible diet can bugger off today, it's pizza and beers for the match :p
I'll be switching between Setanta 1 and Setanta 2 nervously during the match

Luckily for you Stan we've got third place sewn up irrespective of todays results so that might make it a slightly easier game than if we were fighting to keep a place. I'd like to see Hearts win but on balance I'd prefer Celtic to win the title than Rangers so I'm not going to be deeply upset if your lot win.

Good luck to Newcastle, the EPL would look a bit strange without them.

I'm in two minds, I've always had a soft spot for Newcastle but the amount of **** my Newcastle based friends have given me over the past few years for Birminghams yoyo based antics, well lets just say that revenge would be sweet.

i'm not looking forward to this afternoon, no matter which side wins....

I'm hoping Celtic can pull it back, but frankly dropping a 7 point lead it's our own bloody fault if we don't.

I know, it's like a mirror image of the end of last season.

Here's my supplies for the match and the rest of the day too - either celebrating or drowning of sorrows.

Bugger!

The 'gers go 1-0 up :(

Aberdeen go 1-0 up against Hibs which means Dundee Utd must score against Rangers if they want to play in the Europa cup next season.

Kello, in goal for the Jambos is having a great game - ubfortunately. He's stopped us scoring several times already.

Bollocks.

Come on Dundee Utd. Don't you want to play in Europe next season? 2-0 to the Gers on the stroke of half time :(

Aberdeen 2-1 Hibs
Celtic 0-0 Hearts
Dundee Utd 0-2 Rangers

At half-time. Dundee Utd need to do something special in the second half to prevent the Celtic - Hearts game being a complete irrelevance anyway. 3 goals scored on the stroke of half time almost so it'll be interesting to see what happens next.

Well. That's it pretty much ****ed now - 3-0 the gers :(

That's it all over for another season. Rangers are champions, Celtic second, Hearts third and Aberdeen squeak into the fourth and last place for the Europa Cup on goal difference.

As much as it pains me to say it, well done to the Rangers for holding it together and doing the same as we did to them last season by taking advantage of our shocking form in the second half of the season.
We've only won 10 of our 19 games in the second half - that's absolutely dismal and TBH, we deserve to lose the league with form like that. Doesn't make it any easier though :(

Let's hope we can regroup and strengthen the squad during the closed season and come back and play the whole of next season like we did the first half of this season.

Still proud to be a Celtic supporter and I still think Gordon Strachan is an excellent manager for us and I hope he doesn't leave or get pushed out - I'm sure he is the man to get us back on winning form next season.

I'm off to drown my sorrows now :p

Howay the Toon :D

Whilst I have little interest in what's going on in this thread, I wish I had 'The Badger Sett' right now. Looks good!

I didn't see all the match but I'm afraid to say Newcastle were poor from what I did watch, very little desire apparant, I hope your venture in the Championship is a short one but that it allows you to remove the dross which appears too prevalent in the black and white.

I have to admit that I found the identity of the goal (OG) scorer rather ironic, but that's what you get from a non-football type - though somehow I've found myself checking scores a little more often than expected this year.

Bad luck Newcastle. I didn't want them down.

The owner should have sold the club back in November when the cracks started appearing. There's been no consistancy at the club and that was their undoing. I think it's going to be tough for them returning first season tbh but hope I'm wrong.

crikey Huddy, where have you been ;D

To be honest I can see them coming back up, I just wonder if Alan will have that task.
