I can haz wheels again! Huzzah!

I was getting VERY despondent and was considering seriously hiking my budget (which would have defeated the object of selling the Megane slightly!), no-one is selling their old cars, I'm assuming due to the scrappage deals you get now.
Anyway, Mike spotted this car on Ebay, being sold by a well respected Saab dealer. 2 hours later I own this -

Saab 9-5 2.0t something or other, SE rings a bell but I cant be arsed to go out and get the paperwork.

The dealer gave £1500 for it in P/X, I paid the princely sum of £871. It has a years MOT, it's pretty much spotless, fsh, 1 owner, it's fully loaded and all the gizmos work too, it still has the original Saab hazard triangle in the boot! There's a problem with one of the dash displays (will be sent off and sorted for £40) and it needs some wheel bearings (MtE is on a mission) but other than that it's brilliant! Took it down to Lakeside with all the girls in it and it was ace, really comfy and very quick, cruises easily and a very effortless drive.

V pleased

Considering Pebs is trying to save money ;) :p

I like Saabs definitely a sensible and good compromise - glad you're happy with it.

I still have a soft spot for the center mounted key switch cars!!

We had a 1980 900 GLE with almost a million miles on it (no, I'm not kidding). It was the most comfortable car we've owned. And Good Lord that thing was built like Fort Knox!!

It looks like you got a hell of a deal on it, too. Even looks nice!!

Good stuff, always liked SAABS for some reason. Had a go in a 9-5 diesel sporty version and that thing flew for a derv  If you do get bored, you could probably get it remapped if it's the turbo model.

I showed the pics to Tina. She loved our old Saab to the point she named it. The only car she ever did that to.

Tina : "Ooooooh, when do I get a ride?"
Me : "When we go to the UK"
Tina : "When do we leave?"
Me : *gobsmacked*

For those that don't know, Tina gets seasick WATCHING a boat. She almost gets violently ill watching Deadliest Catch. And her fear of flying FAR outweighs my fear of heights. So how are we getting there again? LOL

So how are we getting there again? LOL

Head north, wait till the Bering Straits are frozen and then head west, hit France and drive onto the train.
