Always pronounced it as per example #2 - although I have heard it pronounced the other way many times.
I say it the first way though my voice isn't quite so deep.

Chris the dinosaur man at the Natural History Museum in Oxford says it that way. And he's awesome at drawing dinosaurs and putting dinosaur poo in his mouth.
#1 because it sounds better and #2 sounds American, which is rubbish!
