Was just typing a post elsewhere when I accidentally held down the CTRL button and hit B and it made the bold quotes when typing a post. It also works for italics. Not tired any others yet.

No idea if this is commonly known or not but thought I'd post it up anyway. Might just be a vB thing or may work on other forum software too. This is on a Mac although I'd assume it should be similar on a PC too.

Have you tried ctrl+w yet for wrapping code tags around the selected text?

There's a keystroke or shortcut that posts your reply as well. I've accidentally done it a few times and wondered what I actually hit to post.

alt+s saves your reply and therefore posts it. :)

The shortcut is the same in Firefox but Firefox is interpreting it for something else. To get it working enter about:config in the address bar then search for ui.key.contentAccess. Change the value to 4, reload FF and Robert is your Mothers brother.

I didn't know either, besides Alt+S. That one is allowed because the alternative is to use the mouse, heaven forbid. Otherwise, all other shortcuts are for pansies. :p

So is there a shortcut to open the quick launch box? Another forum I use I have to click 'quick reply' before I can start typing in the box. Good forum but bad layout so it's a fiddle having to find the icon each time...

Nah, open the command prompt and "format C:", surely?

I once had to use a typewriter and tried to type in Ctrl + Z. Yeah, that didn't go the way I wanted it to.
Sometimes I wish there was a Cytl Z for life. :-)

Your wish is my command:

C:\>format c:
Access Denied as you do not have sufficient privileges.
You have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode.

Hah! :p

I'm not fit enough to be doing any running, especially not at 11PM. :p

There's a fix to that. There's a tiny little reset button inside your computer. You need to press it *really* hard with a big hammer. If it doesn't work first time try again as the button is small and you might have missed it.;D
