So I've had the Landy since Thursday evening, I've found a decent Landy spares place over at Merry Lee Ind Est where I got a new drivers side winder mechanism & a rear door lock assembly, Both are fitted & fully operational.
I got myself a nice set of Alloys for 50 quid & got them swapped over & balanced, Makes the Landy look a lot later & I'm well happy with the improvements, I've also fitted a couple of tap bars on the back.
What do you reckon ?

New discs and pads on the MINI, upgraded to R56 vented, drilled and scored discs from the standard flat vented ones and put on Mintex 1144 pads, they are hardly run in and the car stops on its nose from any speed, I'm very impressed :)

Couldn't resist going out on the drive for a couple of hours with the Blacking out crap, Done all my Black & there is a Crap load of black on the landy. No pics though as I am doing the Full Turd polish tomorrow on me mate Jims drive. It'll only get done the once but I do like to give them the full turd polish to get them how I want them.
I want to smoothrite the chassis so that'll need a jet wash & I'll be sorting the cab out my style. With some Heavy rain expected & all the work completed I can then spend my time getting her Muddy.
I must say I am encountering Much Love for the old Landy which is Superb :)

All I have to do now is Protect the Chassis & then it's Play time.
I am about ****ing green with envy, mate.
I'd love a Landy. Especially since I had to sell my Jeep this last weekend.
Cleaned it all up, made it look pretty. Then proceeded to trade it.

Traded it for this :

I need a vehicle for work. Company pays for gas. Company won't pay for gas for a V-8. Wife wants her car back and the Jeep was just sitting there doing nothing being neglected. The guy came up on craigslist and said he'd take a Cherokee in trade for the Tracker. I asked him if I could add a word in there and trade him a Grand Cherokee for it. We talked it over, we both agreed. It's now a done deal.
Looks good mate. I hadn't noticed the steering guard previously.
When's the new bumper and winch being fitted then?

@Darrin.
Don't be down hearted about your Jeep Dude we call them a Suzuki Vitara over here & I owned one for 14 months trouble free motoring they are Superb.
@Ben M.
Winch is on the list but then so is uprated shocks & springs with 2 inch lift, Diff gaurd, External cage,Cage mesh for rear windows, Light rail, Longer arms, braided extended hoses, Smaller steering wheel, Fire extinguisher, Some padding around the door pillars, strengthened drive shafts & CVs' etc etc etc etc etc ;D;D;D

I haven't done any work on any vehicles for ages, although I do have an RV8 block over at PPC having the cam bearings looked at and, hopefully, being honed (or bored if it's too worn. My measurements made it usable with just a hone, but I didn't give it a very complete check tbh).

Oh, I know. My dad and my brother (and now his son) have all owned Samurais. They're wonderful little trucks, but after the Jeep it's like going from a Jaguar XJS to a Fiat Punto. From V-8 climate controlled leather goodness to a tiny little 4 banger straining its guts out to maintain 65mph. And in the process bouncing me all over hell's half acre. It's all a little snobish of me, but I think you know what I'm saying. ;D
I truly am envious of you with the Landy. I'd give my left testicle for one. But they're ungodly expensive over here.

Bought me Fluids yesterday, 15 litres of it & an Oil filter for 43 quid, I'll be dumping out the diffs/gearbox oil & renewing it & changing the engine oil & filter first thing in the morning.
I'm planning on going to a Pay & Play over Ashby de la zouch (sp?) on Sunday so changing all the fluids gives it half a chance of lasting the day.
Of course I'll be bringing back some pics to post & I'll try my best to get some vid action.
I can't wait. :D
Anybody interested in coming can find the place on Google maps after visiting this link to get the details.

I've spied a water hole there so it looks like I'll be taking the Landy for it's First swim.
Directions.
From the A42 Junction 13 (Ashby de la Zouch, Leics)follow the signs for Lount. As you approach the site entrance there are chevrons in the centre of the road, turn right into the site and follow the track to the top.
Place is only about 20-25 minute drive from me but I can't really tell what the terrain is like on Google maps, Only 20 quid though & like I say I am gagging to have a play.

Round the back of the tip by the look of it (the tip is a hundred yards further on, on the same side). I live in Ashby, I'll keep an eye out for you (although I'm staying in Leicester on Sat night, and will almost certainly be hung over on Sunday, so may not be out much, lol.
If you need somewhere to eat, carry on the way you are going, past the tip and on into Lount, there is a cheap and cheerful "2for1" pub/restaurant on the left. Maybe half a mile from where you would turn off to go to the 4x4 place.

Check this out then.
So it took me around 25 minutes to get there this morning & I was first there, I paid my 20 quid & told the Dude that I would be taking it easy as I had just got the Landy 2 weeks ago, Sure he said Enjoy yourself.
I wandered off around some rutts which the Landy took in it's stride & then I came across this BIG hole full of muddy water, Without hesitation I dropped in, Got a part way across it & me Landy died. :(
The Landy filled up with water up to my seat/knees it was Ace. This is me standing/crouching on the seat to get my batty out the water.
http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/521/offroad001.jpg (http://img269.imageshack.us/i/offroad001.jpg/)
We seem to have had a small leak in the back as well. :D
http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/9907/offroad002.jpg (http://img218.imageshack.us/i/offroad002.jpg/)
This was the view out my window which I climbed out of & on to the wing, Then the bonnet, I slung a line across & hooked up the winch off the disco bottom shot & they dragged me out. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
Not so fast !!! I turned the engine over & it just locked up.
So I tells the dudes I know **** all about Landys & they advised me, In short I popped the glow plugs out & turned it over shooting water out the head, Then I took the pipes off & drained the water out, The bottom of the cvooler was at such an angle the water was trapped. I had to take a pipe off the motor & use it as a straw sucking the muddy water into my mouth & spitting it out. :D + :p (You may have to read that again to take that in :D)
So just as I was putting her back together my mates turned up Laughing. :p
I cranked her over & she started first ******** time for ***** sake.
So I let her tick over & then got back to it, Had a good few hours in the rutts & wandering around the site, Kin Perfect day.
I learnt a Heck of a lot today & came back Beaming.
