Shameless/full plug for money take 4,001 ... London 10K

Hello everyone! :D

Not another 'sponsor me' thread I hear you cry!

Unfortunately yes, I am sorry...! Being the Charity of the Year co-ordinator at work, I can't really get out of this one. :(

I have trained, but possibly not as much as the lovely LostKat who is 10King on the same day... but by gaining a new PB on the 5K Race for Life last weekend has encouraged me somewhat!

I aim to complete the 10K without stopping or walking, as I haven't done it before I am not sure about times, but am aiming for less than 1h30mins.

If you don't complete it within 2hrs you get in trouble! I.e. they re-open the roads in central London at 1pm..!

If any of you are able to donate please mention me in the comments when you do so :) Thank you! I know that many of you have already given for (what some people may see as more) worthy causes.

Our Charity of the Year is the National Children's Bureau, which is an umbrella company for many smaller children's charities, helping them beat bullying and enhancing the health and well-being of all children and young people.

That is no problem - if you don't ask you don't get right?! ;)

AWwww thanks to everyone for their support and sponsorship - means a lot to me and if nothing else is a drive to keep going when you remember how many people have sponsored you :)

Had to be in central London on sunday at 8am! the race didnt start till 935 but we had to have pictures etc then it was a 35min wait till the start line.

The run was ok... quite boring - should have worn music to be honest, but at least the weather was good! Horrendosly organised run though... the magazine said there would be 4 water stations en route and there was one Gatorade station only. Not impressed!

Completed it in 1hr 09 mins and 54 secs... (yeah I know 1min10 :p) which I was very pleased with! I was totally expecting it to take me 1hr 30mins... and I beat my friend Lou who did the Melbourne 10k in 1hr12... hee hee!

Good job I have today off I say!

You did good, lady :) WELL DONE! I'm reet proud of you. Fantastic time and congrats on beating your mate (tee hee :p ). I'm sorry it turned out to be quite boring. I was actually quite envious of you running past all those famous monuments, whilst I slogged around a park.

Quite suprised they said they'd put on 4 water stations. That's not normal for a 10k. You usually get just the 1 (I poured my drink over my head. I hate drinking on the run, but needed to cool down).

So the big question is... are you going to continue running and enter something else?

Yeah I think the most depressing part of the day is when we drove on part of the course back from the bowling later that day. :/

I honestly don't know if I will do another.. I never thought I would ever run 10K (my mum and dad were like:

Mum: "Mei Ling! I'm so shocked you are running 10k - for someone who hated sports at school - very proud!"

Awww they're fantastic BBx :D Proud moments indeed!
Just had a look through the pics taken at my RFL (Nivea have them all on their website and you can download them free). They have a great photo of the start line for the SECOND race (at 2pm), but not for mine :( I would have been on it too. Boooooo to Nivea! :p
