It appears I have quite a long list films i've not seen and this year I've been trying to go through them.

That's what I like about goiing to the likes of blockbuster is that you can pick and choose what you like unlike sky who have never had a good choice. Just same old same old.

This year I have seen the "God Father series" which i enjoyed, and the "the Shawshank Redemption". Totally brilliant.

This weekend, I watched "Scarface". Hmm some of you aren't going to agree with me on this one.. but what a pile of crap..!! Can't believe I watched it to the predictable end.

.. and I've still not seen "Top Gun". lol

what about you chaps?

Or Labyrinth (thanks Belmit I MUST watch that and get it returned before my hols - :embarassed: )

Just think how many times you could have watched it!

I think I only saw the Godfather trilogy at the start of this year, and I must confess that I thought the first one was the best one, contrary to popular opinion. I recorded Carlito's Way at the weekend so will probably watch that down the week.

There are loads of old films I've never watched but really want to see, most critically acclaimed. Amongst them are Gone With The Wind, Casablanca, Citizen Kane, It's A Wonderful Life, and pretty much every Alfred Hitchcock film. So, quite a few!

Very weird especially the end but the start middle is very cool, especially the 'Charlie don't surf!' bit :D

Yup.

But I'd try to get a copy of the original film and not the Redux which adds some very unnecessary crap.

There are masses of films that I've not got round to seeing unfortunately including The Godfather Trilogy, Carlito's Way(although I've read the book), Citizen Kane and I don't think I've watched any Hitchcock films either :embarassed:

One major film I'm quite proud of not having seen though is Titanic, in fact I may even have dived out the room once rather than watch it.

Ummm I haven't seen the Godfather trilogy yet! Read the book(s) though so figure that's a little bit excusable....haven't seen Apocalypse Now either....in fact thinking about it I haven't seen a lot of classic 'classic' films, there's too many mindless action films out there diverting my attention ;D

Godfather trilogy
Scarface (have it on DVD, but has been in celophane for over a year now)

on the flipside, I have watched Rocky Anthology to death ;)

I was proud of that too :D Till I had to watch it for a lecture in my first year at Uni :(

For me: Godfather 2 and 3, Rocky (any of them), The Shawshank Redemption, Lord of The Rings (if you count it as a classic), Harry Potter (Again if that counts), Citizen Kane, Casablanca,
and probably a whole load of films that people would go 'OMG how have you not seen that?' :embarassed:

Somehow I never get round to it. :undecided:

Rocky (any of them), The Shawshank Redemption, Lord of The Rings

To have not seen Rocky maybe fair enough but the first 4 are pretty decent although fairly similar so if you watch one you've more or less seen all of them.

The Shawshank Redemption is a shocking omission though, one of the greatest films of all time and I don't use that description lightly. There are always copies going cheap in HMV/Virgin/Fopp so do yourself a favour and spend the £5 or whatever and watch it, I can't imagine you'd regret it as I've yet to meet the person who didn't like it :)

Lord of The Rings is pretty good and certainly epic but I don't know if I'd call it a classic just yet. If you've read the books then the films probably aren't going to be as good so I'd probably save the 9-12 hours of your life and not worry too much about it.

Oh and I would have skipped the lecture ;)

I really want to see The Shawshank Redemption so I'll sort that soon hopefully :) Rocky I'm not really bothered about though.

Lord of The Rings, I've only read the first book although did like it. Going to get my copies from home this weekend so hopefully I'll get round to finishing the trilogy then.

I didn't have a choice with skipping the lecture :p Titanic was our exam question too ;) Which I managed to get nearly a first on either though I despised the film :embarassed:

I figured if I could get Haly to watch the first one then she'd be hooked ;)

I'm not sure about the barnet changes though, it has been a while since I've watched them so I'll defer to your superior knowledge :)

Never seen any of the Lord Of The Rings films. Just can't summon the enthusiasm, although I suppose I will one day.

You mean 4 surely. There is no 5th ;)

Maybe we shall skip straight to the 6th. Just watched the trailer :D :D
Dixon: "Its over"
Rocky: "It isn't over till its over"
Dixon: "Where's that from? The 80s?"
Rocky: "That's probably the 70s"

Roll on christmas!!

I was the same dude... The thought of spending 6 hours + watching lttle hairy feet was a bit daunting.. We did it during the colder months.. have to see it was cool but never agin.

I watched "Goodfellas" last night. Another one i've never got round to seeing. Was very good I thought.. Nasty piece of work that Tommy!

Goodfella's is an excellent film. Recently bought Casino cheap as well actually, need to get round to watching it. Drags a bit, but I do like it.

I have to agree. (casino)... one of the only films I have watched that I turned off cos i got bored waiting for something to happen..

Haly

I loved Casino :) Although I watched it years ago when I was probably a tad young to watch it so I may have just been keen on the violence :embarassed:
Have to see it again sometime.

Top Gun was on last night.. I came in 10 minutes in to the film.. 30 minutes later I remembered why I haven't seen this .. Bloody awfull. Couldn't watch anymore.

Top Gun is great PROVIDED you are watching it to reminice about how much you liked it the fist time around, its the same with Days of Thunder for me. I loved the music and the car scenes and the OTT acting but the film itself is poor. The joy comes from the memories :D

Apocalypse now is my favourite film of all time, so yes its deffinately worth a watch. Don't expect your usual Holywood war film though. Its a slow paced weird one. And I see what your saying about the redux version Flibster, but I think i prefer it actually as it makes it longer, although the French Plantation scene drags on a bit too long.

I've seen nearly everything I can think of, apart from Casablanca, I have seen all of this film, just never in one go.

Gone off films really. I like watching Disney films with friends whist cabbaged because the songs are good, especially Alladin.
