Just been out for a long stroll with the doggy down by the river. Was really pleasant (bit nippy when the sun disappeared) and we were having a nice time... until I noticed a strange chap following me.

Now... there's got to be some kind of neon flashing light above me at the moment saying "WEIRDOS, FOLLOW ME!" as Knips and I were recently followed by a weird guy when on Clifton Downs. The guy by the river wasn't so extreme though (he didn't get his bum out or nothing like the dude in Clifton! Weirdo!) but the times I looked behind he kind of ambled off into a bush as if for me to not see him.

So... seeing as I was the only one about that I could see... and the fact I didn't have my mobby on me (stupid girl)... I decide to cut the walk short and head back on the main path in the middle of the field (Trio was like "Nooooo I want to be by the river bank!").

Anyways... about 20yards off where I've parked my car I realise I haven't got my car keys.

Oh bumfluff. I'd obviously dropped them somewhere.

I look back and canny see them about me and then look how far I've come and am a bit like "oooh panda puffs... that's quite a long search route :/"

I can see weird dudey lingering about at the other end of the field too and I'm like "well.. I need my flipping keys! Particularly considering Pickys not home til 8 tonight and I have no other way home nor any mobile!!" Soooo I stroll on back hoping my keys aren't too far. I figured if weirdo headed towards me, he had a fair way to go to reach me and didn't look like a particularly healthy chap so I could easily out run him to the main road. As long as I kept my distance.

Anyways. My Dog. She's a legend. She doesn't know the word for "keys" - never really said it to her before but as soon as I said "Where's my keys? Find them girly find them!" she ran off... looped about a bit and then randomly plonked down just off the path way a few hundred yards off! She's never done this before... normally if she finds something for me she'll grab it and run back or sniff it and run back to me!

I dropped them scooping her poop hadn't I!

So yaaaaaay for doggy!

Home now!

But seriously! What is it with weird guys in broad daylight?!! It's normally a well walked path too - odd that no one else was about! And it's a huuuuuge field! Not many hidey places unless you sneak around the river bank bushes!

Learned my lesson today though (second time running!). Always take my phone with me, even in broad daylight and on main paths! And any other girlies out there that go for walks/runs - you do the same too! (And to some extent you guys :))

We prefer the increased visibility. :D

What a weirdo!

Trio's such a bright little doggie :) I remember when I stayed and we got her a cuddly toy (can't remember what it was now, giraffe?) and she recognised the word for it within seconds. Really impressive!

She has so many toys now I canny remember where they've all come from ;D

She does know all of them though. We play go find in the morning and I scatter her toys around the house and she runs off and finds each one I call out, brings it to me and puts it in her toy box :D

Haven't been able to teach her to "Put your toys away" yet though! lol!

That's because it's no fun to put toys away ;D

I nearly went to Clevedon once, by accident :D
Was meant to be going into Bristol, took the wrong lane and followed the M5 instead of an A road and it took me ages to find a junction to turn round at :p That junction being Clevedon.
It was August bank holiday too, not good :(

Some people spend most of their lifetime trying to teach their offspring to do that, why do you think your dog will manage it? Is Trio smarter than your average eight year old? ;)

Well done to her though, that's a very handy trick, particularly if she can repeat it. :)

She is mega smart. I don't know how we've managed it or whether it was luck of the draw but she's pretty awesome. A bit of a plonker at times, but she loves LOVES doing stuff for you! I canny knacker her out by just taking her for a walk, I have to play mental games with her (like find it or I will give her commands just by silent signals and she has to do a series of them before getting a treat etc) I swear she will be able to put all her toys away at some point! Just not practised it enough ;D

Depends on who you mean by you lot ;D I meet up with whoever I can but then I'm Exeter way and there's not many of us down here so it only happens when I go a-travellin! :)
