Can anyone help me out?

Trying to find definitive proof whether or not you need to be issued with a ticket 'on the spot' if you are caught out with a hand-held speed gun, or if the ticket can be sent out afterwards?

There's looooooooooads of different thoughts on this but I can't find anything concrete that says either way

Is a hand held a manned camera? If so then yes they can issue it after in the post.

99% sure you can get them in the post, else the guy I chatted to who does it near us is wasting his time, as he never pulls people at the time. :p

If thy stopped you and cautioned you then they have 6 months

else it is 14 days but if it was a hand held and not scamera van then if they didn't stop you you are almost certainly ok

I'm expecting a present in the post soon. Driving home on the same route I've taken for five years there was just randomly a scamera van sat on a bend on the dual carriageway. I'm pretty sure I was doing just under 85 indicated so I'll be lucky to get away with it.

Thats about 82 if yours over reads by the same as mine, you might scrape it, maybe not though :(
