This fantastic game arrived today from Yes-Asia, £22 including shipping ;D

If you have a DS, get it now! It's totally japanese, but you don't need to know any to make sense of the gameplay. Plus it has some fantastic tunes I've never even heard before!

Someone else here must have it :D

I've heard of it but I still can't make my mind whether to buy it or not. Worried I'll be impressed by the concept but get bored fast :/

I can't really say how much longevity it'll have given I've only had it a few hours. In that time I've already finished it on easy, but I'm finding the early levels in normal pretty challenging. There are 4 difficulties, so I'm sure it'll take you a while to finish them all.

To add to that, if you try to get perfect ranks on every song it'll take you forever! It seems like the kind of game you'll want to pick up every so often just to play one song even after you've had the game a long while.

If you've played music rhythm games before and enjoyed them, it's a no-brainer. The over-the-top japaneseness makes it all the more awesome

Ah i've heard about this, isn't there meant to be a sequel coming out soon?

There's a western version called Elite Beat Agents, it's more of a spiritual sequel. It'll have the same gameplay, same sort of presentation but english songs. I know Smoke on the Water is in it, not sure what else.

I'll be getting that too, but part of the fun in Ouendan! is the japanese music and crazy stories. The stories in Elite Beat Agents will probably be crazy, but not as crazy as a man fighting a giant blue hamster in the streets of Tokyo.

good game. it's one that i play in bits...but the last session i had was about 2 hours...i think my eyes were bleeding! not entirely sure what the western version's going to be like. think most of the fun is the j-pop and not really being sure what the hell is going on!

bwahaha, finally got hold of this, its the most random game i've played in a fair while. The whole idea of these guys that seem to go around dancing to help someone study, with music and you tapping the right sequence is nuts. Its had me cracking up a few times
