What is it with this girl!?

Seriously - am I the only one who finds her music completely bland dross?

Her voice is irritating, her videos are boring, the music is monotonous and the 80s want her hair back.

I really do not understand what everyone seems to see in her and I'm frankly staggered to discover that she's been nominated for the Mercury Music Prize!

No you're not. I cannot stand her horrible, toneless, irritating voice. She's utter garbage.

Inane nonsense lyrics played at halfspeed over some samples that the Human League binned. :(

Not my type of music, however the songs do work really well in clubs/bars.

I actually quite like Bulletproof and In For The Kill (although it's mainly Skreamy's Let's Get Ravey Mix I prefer rather than the original). Sure, it's not fantastic music but it's good enough to listen along to.

It's Bulletproof that does it for me. It's literally her saying the line "Next time bay-bee I'll beee-ee-eee-eeeee Bulleeeeeht-proof" about 100 times over the top of some totally garbage background muzak. She's infuriating and she has crap hair.

i'm not a massive fan of her tracks, but they lend themselves to some proper grimey remixes which i'm a big fan of.

In For The Kill should have been a one-hit wonder. Bulletproof is more of the same but not as good, and with a terrible chorus line. Mercury Music Prize? Mercury Poisoning Please.

I thought La Roux was the band name.
Is she a solo artist?

My friends car was the one used in the 'In for the Kill' video :) I quite like the music but it's the kind of stuff I like anyway.

Nokkon, why are you dressed like a gimp in your tag?

Life imitates art or vice versa?

Still quite liking listening to La Roux but I suspect if I listened to it too much I might start to dislike it.

I'm not a fan of her as a person, nor her tracks either.

But as Karbon says, her tracks have got some excellent remix potential - the Skream remix of 'in for the kill' was a very dirty bit of stuff I enjoyed immensley when Annie Mac dropped it into her Glastonbury Mashup.

I heard her plugging another remix of an upcoming single 'I'm not your toy' which had a grimey dubstep mix which I can only describe as an excellent little bit of filth. :D
