The older I get the younger people seem to pass away :(
he was no Scorsese but his films did hit a cord with me, particularly Breakfast Club and Some Kind Of Wonderful :(

I clicked wondering who he was, then I saw the film list and was like :'(
His films were awesome, I grew up with them :(
I loved his movies and freaky enough a mate and I were discussing him earlier this evening :( (in fact his name is still in my google search area)
RIP Mr Hughes :'(

Only got to know of his films through Kevin Smith films.
Have Breakfast Club, 16 Candles and Weird Science. All amazing.
RIP.
I just came on to post this :(
I shall be watching The Breakfast Club tonight, one of my favourite films.

Just finished watching The Breakfast Club, I've not seen it for ages and it's not lost anything - Still one of my favourite films.
The kids haven't seen it before and YMF really liked it. Not sure about LMF as she was tappity tappity on her laptop all the way through.

We watched pretty in pink last week and just finished watching sixteen candles...
Top notch stuff!
I need a better version of The Breakfast Club, I didn't realise quite how poor mine is - No extras, non anamorphic transfer, it looks like a video! I think I'll do Pretty in Pink tonight.
Ferris Bueller. My Hero. Best teen film ever. FACT.

FB never grabed me in the way Breakfast Club did I was a moody little bastard though and prefered my films to be more emo than comedy.

I was probably just the right age when FB came out. Breakfast club was a bit old for me & I wasn't allowed to watch it. Just didn't happen so I didn't see it until I was in my 20's.

Loved Breakfast Club. Didn't really care for Ferris Bueller and I don't think I've seen the others mentioned.
Sixteen candles seems to be highly regarded so I might watch that when I get home.
Some Kind of Wonderful is another of his great movies, (writer/producer). A really fab film that I unfortunately haven't seen for ages.
grew up on FBDO, TPA, GO UB, HA
Legendary director and screenwriter shame he wen into hermit mode.
