Can someone explain to me why we have a second show on a Sunday to go through the elimination stage, then a "sing-off" only for the judges to tactically switch back to the public vote, which it should be anyway? and shouldn't the number of judges be an odd number?

Feek

They're clearly not judges otherwise they'd vote on quality of performance.

Because it makes them money.

About ******* time is all I'll say.

Good riddance- I changed my opinion on those boys from their first appearance; they're nice enough boys, they put lots of effort in and they were daft enough to keep my attention for 3 minutes once a week.

Nonetheless, they were a pair of utterly useless turds. ;D

Hallelujah!

About friggin time!!! Ollys sing off was amazing, one of my all time favourite songs that never fails to bring a tear to my eye from some personal memories of mine....and I thought he did it justice :)

Kitten

Think it was time (well past it, if we're honest). Still, shame Dannii didn't have the backbone to do to Simon what he did to her. Obviously wants to keep her place on the panel for next year when her 'singing career' is launched again!

Briggykins
22-11-2009, 23:26
If Danni had sent it to deadlock she'd have been called a hypocrite tho. She did the right thing, maintained a bit of dignity.
Now all we have to do is get rid of Lloyd and all will be right with the world.

Kitten
22-11-2009, 23:27
Doesn't matter IMO, makes her look spineless & Simon like the one who pulls the strings. Lloyd to go next week i reckon (hope)!

Fabulous result, but also reading in the paper today that Jedward have been receiving death threats :shocked: so maybe good for them too.

Davey_Pitch
23-11-2009, 09:48
Death threats are way too harsh. I didn't like them as I thought they were totally devoid of any musical talent whatsoever, but they conducted themselves very well and it's not their fault they were in the show, Louis shouldn't have put them through in the first place (how he thought they were worthy of a place is beyond me).

Still, Lloyd to go next week please, then we'll have 4 acts left who are all pretty talented, and I wouldn't complain too much about any of them winning (Joe's performance this week really won me over). Despite being in the bottom two I still think Olly will win, I think some of his fans didn't vote for him as they would have assumed he was safe, so maybe voted for someone else to get Jedward off.

Desmo

Why is she spineless? I think I'm missing the Simon and her connection.

To me she did what she had to do and actually voted them off rather than taking the route of letting it go to the phone vote results. I don't think she looked spineless at all unless I've missed something.

That's what I thought too :/

Seeing as (as far as I know) she is the only person in the whole series who has actually made a decision without letting it go to Dead lock I would hardly call her spineless!

Kitten
23-11-2009, 22:20
If she wanted to teach Simon a lesson...because according to him it wasn't a singing competition - which is one of the reasons he DIDN'T eliminate Jedward - which is the point she tried to make and failed...then she was spineless for making the point and then NOT backing it up by going to deadlock.

I'm not saying she shouldn't have voted for Olly, but I'm saying she made a HUGE deal of saying 'Is it a singing competition?' got no answer - clearly wanted to toy a bit with Simon and then said 'But hey, Simon, you do what you want, I'll never cross you anyway because you sign my paycheck!'

Spineless!

PS..someone voted Rikki (?) off too, didn't watch it so don't know who, but know it didn't go to deadlock.

Desmo
23-11-2009, 22:30
But you can still make a point and then follow it through by doing the right thing which is what she did. She made her point vocally and then followed it through by voting off Jedward. She'd have looked even more stupid if she had tried to make a point about it being a singing contest and then backed out and went to deadlock. She believes it's a singing competition and voted accordingly.

Kitten
23-11-2009, 22:33
I'm not asking you to agree with me, I'm telling you what I think. :) I think she's too scared to stand up to Simon, end of, and would have voted for his act whatever, despite him voting tactically against her. I don't think she's brave, I think she's the opposite. She made the right decision, but she just made that smug git 100% smugger.

Princess Griff
23-11-2009, 22:52
I agree with you Desmo, I think Dannii was completely in the right and was more pissed off that Lucie went out because of Louis making it an entertainment show not a singing competition. Thats why she was making her point, and I think she is pretty honest with all of her voting.
There was no doubt Olly should have stayed, he was fab!

Kitten
23-11-2009, 22:53
I don't think anyone agrees with me but hey, that's life ;), I can live with it. I still think Dannii Minogue judging a singing competition is like Cheryl Cole giving marriage advice.

Depends on what you think a judge should be I guess. Is it that they can sing? Have seen lots of auditions? Been involved in the music industry is some way? I'd say she's just as fit to judge as Sharon Osbourne was.

Desmo

You'd be a crap judge if you sat there with fingers in your ears ;D

Kitten
23-11-2009, 22:59
Jesus, Sharon was worse *hurl* Awful, awful woman. Dannii at least has style and despite limited talent, made her own success rather than riding on the back of some drug addled 'rocker'.

You'd be a crap judge if you sat there with fingers in your ears ;D

Have you seen my avatar?? :p

Princess Griff

Nah I disagree Kitten, I really like Cheryl Cole! I also liked Sharon though, she was really funny! Cheryl knows what its like to do the whole talent show contest and go on to become a star, she offers a unique perspective that the other judges cant!

No seriously, I like Cheryl & I think she's a great choice of judge because she really has been there and done that. And she makes me go all scrunchy and soft inside when she smiles because she's gorgeous so I'm a bit biased ;). I don't like Sharon, I think she'd sell you up the river for whatever little she could get for herself - I used to think she was really honest but recently some things she's said about people are just mean and nasty. As for Dannii. Never can make my mind up about her. I look forward to seeing what she's wearing week in week out though, she always looks amazing. She is an absolutely stunning woman.

Desmo

I think we could be in for a shock next week. There are too many young girls voting for Lloyd to go, although he is clearly the worst singer left now.

Davey_Pitch
24-11-2009, 09:33
I think we could easily be in for a shock next week. The judges get no say any more and it's now the bottom act who will be eliminated automatically. I think Stacey will be safe as she has the female vote all to herself, Joe should sail through simply on the basis of his voice, while Danyl, Olly and Lloyd have all been in the bottom two before and will likely be in danger of going. Common sense would suggest that Lloyd will go as the weakest voice and the fact he's been in the bottom two twice before, but it'll be interesting to see who gets voted out by the public next week.

Kitten
24-11-2009, 10:53
I doubt Olly. His fans will be shocked by the bottom two thing so will vote for him. I reckon Danyl & Lloyd, and if the public vote decides - Danyl will go.

Davey_Pitch
24-11-2009, 11:45
That's what I'd assume regarding Olly but you can never be sure when it comes down to a pure public vote. They kept Jedward in after all :p

A Place of Light

they've been approached for dancing on ice too allegedly!

A Place of Light
27-11-2009, 20:04

Jedward for the impending assult of crap that they're no doubt in the process of putting on the shelves.....or the jelly heads who will buy it?

Discuss.

27-11-2009, 22:56
Normally isn't there a period of a good few years from when these celebrities were at their peak to when they were at rock bottom and went to the jungle?

With a bit of luck these two idiots will go there and that'll be the last we hear of them!

It doesnt suit his style at all!
Its cheesy and camp....Joes forte
But he did sing it very well regardless!

13-12-2009, 21:35

Suprisingly Olly sounded much better singing this song

and I have just voted for him again!!!

Not enjoyed this series as much as others. I'm not in to it big time but do enjoy watching it but there's just been far too much to watch this year and it was getting a bit tedious seeing the same clips over and over again.

Briggykins
14-12-2009, 09:10
Yeah for some reason I haven't enjoyed this series really. Not sure why, as there were more acts I thought were talented this year than in some previous ones. Maybe I'm just getting X Factor fatigue, or maybe it was the extra Sunday show.

Jingo
14-12-2009, 12:17
I don't feel the material they had warranted another separate Sunday show + 'Xtra Factor' after each... HOURS AND HOURS of xfactor stuff with only about 10 songs to broadcast.

I'll tune in next year to watch the rubbish contestants at the start, but other than that I feel reality tv is going in the poopflusher.

A Place of Light
