Alreet, I put a guide up on my football team's forum yesterday on how to stream NFL coverage and just heard from our head coach he can't get the simplest of streams working.

He blamed his Sky broadband connection, but I'm sure it'd be more likely software related (just not sure what exactly)

If you wouldn't mind, would you let me know if you can load the stream of the NFL network on http://atdhe.net/
Thanks :)

I see what you mean by simple. Took all of 30 seconds. :)

Looks like it's using flash, so it'd be worth him checking he's got an up-to-date flash install.

Flash, ah yes - for some reason I always forget that Flash powers just about everything :/

thanks guys.

right, flash is up to date, but still not working.

I'm out of ideas already :/

Presumably the right version of Flash for the browser (i.e. are other flash sites working?)

Works okay here in the US too.

I tried to get him to load up the justin.tv featured feeds and he couldn't load that. He's certain sky are blocking it - but I can't understand how that'd be legal (he's a copper though so no doubt will say something in response to my comments about the law thing though)

They can block whatever they like, no laws against it. Don't like the service, switch ISPs.

Before he starts taking drastic steps, does www.ustream.tv work for him?

I'd go much closer to home:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcone/watchlive/

If that doesn't work, it's very unlikely to be Sky causing the problem.

PS - Obviously, that link won't work for Garp.

PPS - You might not get live video (as is the case right now), but the stream itself still works.

With SkyBB and as of 11:22am the SoccerAM link worked for me (http://atdhe.net/8889/watch-soccer-am).

**Edit**
Add to the above, the Gold Coast Titans VS West Tigers game also works (http://atdhe.net/7576/watch-gold-coast-titans-vs-west-tigers)

Finally got to the end of it. the test of BBC and ustream was a success and then he tried Firefox - it was IE at fault!

being as anti IE as I am that was the next thing on my check-list of things at fault - should of been first but I always forget about it!! I open IE once in a blue moon to see what the unfortunate users of my web sites get to see if they're unlucky enough not to have a choice of browser.

Thanks a lot though guys :D

Just to confirm further, both links worked in IE (tested first) and Firefox (tested second).

Maybe it's not directly an IE fault but system clutter?

certainly a possibility but having never seen the machine and with no knowledge of it its hard to say.
I prefer to blame IE. its the web designers way ;D
