View Full Version : Brains request: name me some paintings!
I've got to go to an arty party where we all go in fancy dress as art. I'm making a t-shirt with a collage of different paintings all over it. So far I can think of Mona Lisa, Guernica, Mondrian composition and, er, that's it :D
Name me some paintings. The more obsure the better :)
The Scream? :)
Always been quite fond of Canaletto's paintings after seeing an exhibition years ago.
Monet's Lily Ponds is a good bet too.
Ooh and got to have some Dali in there too :D Persistence in Time being my favourite.

The Haywain. Turner or Constable I think.
Van Gogh's Sunflowers
Damien Hirst's little coloured spots
Andy Warhols campbells soup or Multicoloured Marilyns
Whistlers Mother
Banksy
I've surprised myself there. I thought I was a cultural vacuum.
The Last Supper & The Vitruvian Man (World in Action chappy)
Michaelangelo's The Creation of Adam & Angels
Le Chat Noir.
Van Gough self-portrait & those bloody pool-playing dogs.
I think I've decided nudity is a good theme. More nudity please :)
The Birth of Venus - Botticelli
Olympia - Manet

Henri Matisse - Blue Nude
My personal favourite
Woman in the Bath - Degas
Madonna - Edvard Munch
Oh and my earlier post reminds me (despite being very kitsch I'm sure!) an artist I've always liked...
The Birth of Venus - Tretchikoff
Yves Klein used to cover women in blue paint and then press them against the wall, get Mrs 69 covered in blue paint while wearing white.....
I just asked. I think that's a no :(
