Reminds me of the Spitfire one, only less of a surprise.

Prefer the Spitfire one.

Something to note - it's certainly not an F18. Shape reminds me of a F111 - but it's not fat enough for one of them - trying to recognise it still...

A-6 Intruder with a belly tank. Look at the tail fin and the refueling probe. That particular one happens to be an A-6E variant. Seen a metric butt tonne load of them during Gulf War 1 launching and recovering on the USS Abraham Lincoln.

An F-18 it certainly aint as it has twin tails.

Great vid though. The one with the RAF Harrier taking off is hilarious as the British troops are heard swearing profoundly after having their hair parted as it takes off.

Mind me asking where this vid of the Harrier everyone keeps talking about is at?

Oh, that one!!

Personally I like the Spitfire one better. NSFW due to language at the end.

Much nicer aircraft too. Pretty sure it's Ray Hanna at the stick and it's MH434 - one of the most original Spitfires in the world. IIRC it's never undergone a bolts up restoration.

Not bad for a 1943 airframe.

Here is some footage of US Navy planes landing on an aircraft carrier.

I never cease to be astounded how they take off and land on such a short strip.
