Before my girlfriend goes and wastes money on cheap pap (and theres a lot out there) what should i tell her to look at.

Already mentioned my little canon but its too expensive apparently. Shes looking at some silly £50 kodak which i know will be made like a fisher price toy and take photos worse than a mobile, but i couldn't give her anything actually credible as an alternative...

Checked HUKD and nothing pops up recently at all, apart from maybe a Lumix FS4 which has now expired either way, any ideas? :)

Your right avoid kodak, they do actually take pictures far worse than a mobile. they are utter pants.

fuji are meant to be very good and you can get factory refurbed ones for cheap

No idea whether it's still being made and whether you can get it new or not but the Fuji F40fd will be your best bet. should be around £100 I think, I know that's top of budget but it'll last and last.

Another vote for Fuji. Good value for money and always give really nice results. Me & Leon have had 2-3 Fuji compacts between us and they've always been excellent.

Cool cool :) Well i'll keep an eye on HUKD over the next week, and if nothing turns up i'll point her to the A/J series fuji's then yeah? They're the budget range and i assume they're ok right? I've just gotta watch out the camera don't take the ****y xD memory cards basically :)
