I am Christmas party organiser at work along with 'Anne'. 'Katie' is from the venue finding company. We used them last year as they were a two man team and just starting out.

Read bottom upwards and add your own! :D

Hi Anne

My apologies, I just noticed I sent you an email that wasn’t regarding at your event. We are inundated with enquiries about our restaurant finding service at the moment and it’s all very stressful and complex. I meant to send that to my colleague, so many apologies if it was misinterpreted.

I’m fairly sure we can find a few interesting venues that will be within your budget. As soon as we gather the info we’ll send over some ideas.

Kind regards

Katie

Urghhh – so cannot be assed to do this. The only option is for us to find a restaurant. Let me know if you have any ideas.

Hi Katy
We would not consider a shared party but would consider bars or restaurants. Our budget will remain at £40 per head as we have to allow for other expenses that we will incur for prizes etc.

Thank you

Anne

Hi Anne

I hope you had a nice weekend. Thank you for sending us your feedback about the Ambassadors Hotel. With regards to a unique venue (i.e. not a hotel), would you consider shared parties or bars/restaurants? The only reason I ask is if you are looking for an exclusive unique venue, the prices are much more expensive. We have done a few quotes for other clients with a similar amount of guests, and the lowest venue came in at £83.00 per person. I have sent out a couple enquiries to see if we can bring some rates down, but if you are still aiming at £40.00 per person, I think the only option will be to share a venue or consider hiring space at a restaurant.

I know your director is currently on holiday so with regards to budget it is difficult to say at this point, but when he gets back if you could let me know what the ultimate maximum budget is and which options you are willing to consider, and we’ll do our very best to find something that is suitable.

Many kind regards

Katie

I think I'd have been tempted to send that e-mail myself.

Which part of the idea that £40 is too low a budget to get a dedicated place was tricky?

She knew it was £40 budget from the start - £40 pp is better than £0 - which is what a lot of companies will be getting this year!

My job is to work miracles - make something of nothing!

If you are going to slag off the customer behind their back and then get caught don't follow it up by lying to them as well

That's not the sort of thing you would put in an email, regardless of how you felt or who you sent it to. How unprofessional!

ROFL ! ;D

That reminds me of the time I was at nthell and had to help a dude with a mac ( without knowing anything about macs )

I put my mute button on and said something along the lines of stupid bloody macs.. except the mute button wasn't on :o

Luckily he found the funny side of it !

Quite amusing fail with us, a one man band company said he had ceased trading owing us LOTS of money, this was a few months ago.

Last week we had an email from our client who emailed the original enquiry to us so we had the full email trail ( this really does annoy me ) but lo and behold the client we were going legal on had emailed OUR new client with all of the info... at the same address he said he wasn't trading from

What a doughnut ;D

One of the telesales ladies at a previous job discovered her mute button wasn't working on her headset which she'd used to cover a cough. It had long been her habit to mute her headset and insult the customers she was speaking to..
No one knows just how long the mute button had been broken for :D

Katie probably sent that as Anne can't spell her name right... gets really annoying when people constantly spell your name wrong, you end not being assed to help them lol

qft! Nice post Bbx thanks - glad to see I'm not the only one who sends things to the wrong person :p

Some libelous comments about me here from one of my technicians, cc'ing me on on an email to a user. Calling her names can't help either:

Ho Rachel

Sorry For not getting back to you on Friday.

I have spoken with chris and he is going to sort out your laptop. As you have previusly disgust with him , he will set it up with the necessary network facilities you need.

Comments: Open your site in Google Chrome and see how bad it looks. It should support Chrome which is becoming main stream browser now.

Hi Mark

Many thanks for your email. We are currently in the process of developing a new website and have taken into consideration compatibility with all of the other browser platforms that are available for public use.

Chrome is still making its mark in the marketplace and there are other browsers which continue to be more popular with users, but of course this does not mean that we will be excluding it from our future development.

Many thanks for your comment.

Kind Regards,
BBx

Hi BBx

I had a point to make, of course I am not market researcher to conclude trends so I appreciate your email.

By the way, I have 90% of colleagues and friends who use Chrome all the time now.

Chrome is more popular than safari and opera right now afaik, and when you think safari is the defualt choice for all macs then that gives it some perspective. Still were only talking a few percent of the whole market, but the market is MASSIVE.

Before I turn grammar Nazi, is his first language English or not?
If it is then he really needs to learn to form proper sentences!

As an aside, your email seemed fine to me. Acknowledging his feedback and saying Chrome will be taken into consideration for future developments which makes sense to me :)

Phew! Good :D I hate smartasses! So have chosen to close the query now ;) yes Haly I think he is trying to be English!

90% of his mates I don't think I know 1 of mine that uses it.

Pfft to him! but I spoke to my web dev company just to check and apparently all their new sites aren't Chrome compatible :/ as they are still watching its progress in the marketplaces aswell...

Cheers guys :)

I believe firefox is still holding a bigger share. More frustratingly for web developers (and increasingly Microsoft), so does IE6 with its almost complete non-adherence to anything remotely approaching web standards.

I use Chrome on the netbook as Firefox uses too many resources. If I have my usual 8 tabs open for a while, it can be using about 50% of the poky little Atom processor - the lag is noticeable. Still prefer Firefox on my other machines though.

I'm using chrome right now! But you're right BBx, it's not 'proven', so it's natural that you wouldn't have built your site around it.

I've never even used chrome yet. Might give it a bash just to see.

I gave it a quick play a few months back, but IE8 is just easier cos it's there...

I was told by Air NZ after FF locked on the final payment submit page (ie: on page 10 or 10 pages into the booking process) that I should try using IE.
Now granted it worked and I didn't get double charged, but still.

I once emailed our off-shore team with a comment along the lines of "Sorry, xxxx is being a pain and changing his mind yet again" copying xxxx in. Fortunately he too saw the funny side (as he was being a pain and changing his mind yet again :P)
