Just been reading up and apparently the series will be progressive, but interlaced with old clips

About God damn time! :D
wheres the 'like' button!!!
I'll be watching top gear on iPlayer in future then!! :D
HD on iPlayer is pretty much just normal TV resolution though! :p
You want to be downloading the 720/1080 encodes that will appear on torrents and the like.

Ah, d'accord. :)
Am I the only one who thinks it's not that exciting about it being in HD. The picture quality is fairly irrelevent, it's mostly the style that makes the programme.

The bits out side the studio are shot in a certain way to make them look pretty and in HD they will look even better.
If you're not bothered about PQ then lucky you, you'll save a fortune buying DVDs instead of Bluerays :)
Oh I love high quality picture - my projector connected to my blu ray player looks fantastic :)
Just not overly excited about top gear being HD. I love top gear though :)
I don't have any means to watch it, but joy to those who do. Provided they don't compress it to buggery, that is. It's amazing that I actually used to be happy with Freeview. I never used to be bothered about jaggies there, but I see them so often now it's shocking. :(
