I just watched this and WOW!

It's been a while since I read the Warrior comics (mid 80's) and I found that the film really conjured up the same feeling I got from reading them. And I damn near ROFLed at Dietrich's show where V tied the Chancellor's shoelaces together and other pranks!

Obviously it wasn't the same as the story in the comic, but it certainly does it justice.

One question: does anyone have, or know where I can get, a copy of the V for Vendetta song? I know it was available on 12" single, don't know about other formats though, and the first verse was:

"In no longer pretty cities
There are fingers in the kitties
There are warrants, forms and chitties
And a jackboot on the stair
There's sex and death and human grime
In monochrome for one thin dime
But at least the trains all run on time
But they don't go anywhere"

I nearly picked this up yesterday for last night.. I picked up Freedom land instead.. Wasn't that good.

Puts that on my blockbuster wish list :)

Gets my vote too - very very good film and quite a refreshing change for something that's come out of Hollywood

Very good film, picked it up from Tescos a couple of days ago for 12 or 13 squids.

PeterNem, take it back if you can, it's available at HMV's sale for £7 if you're a penny pinching Scrooge like myself. :D

You're not going to like me for this Peter :(

I've just been told it's in the HMV sale for £6.99.

Edit: Bah, beaten! ;)

Hmmmm.... that sucks a bit... but my nearest HMV is 20 miles away so by the time I'd run my car there and paid a couple of quid to park it wouldn't really be worth it!

*sulks*

It's on their website at that price too.

Grrrrrr, damn it! The HMV website was probably the one place I didn't check before going to Tesco!!

Ah well, I'm lazy and still can't be bothered to take it back!

I really enjoyed that movie - I thought it was brilliantly done. I'm surprised it wasn't better received - but then again most films I enjoy tend to be the ones that aren't hyped and over plugged...

I think it's mainly the terrorist theme (albeit it under very abnormal circumstances) which has got it such a cold reception in places

Personally I think it's fantastic

Some people do react somewhat pathetically... I've hardly seen any so called "terrorism" - bar the yanks trying to take over the world ;)

Shame, their loss is my gain, I get to enjoy good movies.

Watched this last night and I must say it was a refreshing change to the usual drivel that comes out of Hollywood. I do think that some of the dialogue used, certainly by V would have sailed over a large number of yanks heads. (not to stereotype too much but you know what I mean)

I bought V for Vendetta in HMV this morning. All I need now is some free time to watch it.
