As of today by providing an ac.uk email address. Bit of a bargain, I've just paid for my first ever OS :p

:)
Do we know for sure yet whether it's a full copy or an upgrade copy?
I'd rather have a full copy for £45 than an upgrade for £30...
How do you get a ac.uk email, I am classed as a student but don't have one.
You need to be attending a school/college/uni who have a proper EDU domain and give you an email on that domain as part of being a student.

It also works with the OU, for any other not-really-students like me.
The box says it's an upgrade, but it says you can install it on pooters without an OS (tho whether that means you'll need a Vista PK I don't know).

It's an upgrade technically but even the ms website say you may need to do a custom fresh install (or words to that effect)... So I'm gambling on that. Can't be bothered paying another 50% more! :p
The thing with the upgrade version is if it wants a prior key off me, cos I don't have one. :p

Ahhhh i'm just planning to use an oem key of past? That should work balls if it doesn't though... Also I'll be getting another key with my dell mini 10 arriving soon, so fingers crossed because I hadn't quite thought about that!

So do I despite graduating some time ago, the uni have decided to keep my account and access fully open due to the potential of me undertaking a doctorate in a couple of years.
Following that link takes me to the MS site but I can't see any further details on deals at all
As a fresh install, would one need to provide an old key? If not, when would the copy (and presumably enclosed key) be shipped to me? - any ideas peeps of the boat?

The link in the post is actually wrong (at least the one you click on is) - you need to go here (http://www.microsoft.com/uk/education/studentoffer/).
Not sure about the key issue, but there isn't a physical copy unless you pay an extra £9 - otherwise it's a download.

Oh really... could make it worth your while (obviously not as worth your while as if you put it on ebay :p) ;)
I got three copies of home and three of pro when that offer was on. Might be one or two spare out of that.
Or free off MSDN - though I make a point of only using MSDN licenses at home for evaluation purposes, which is why I've bought copies.
or Free off MSDN AA :D
:D
Just a quick note of something I spotted for anyone thinking of buying the upgrade version, such as the £30 Student offer:
http://windowsteamblog.com/blogs/windows7/pages/moving-to-windows-7-faq.aspx
Upgrade versions require Windows XP or Windows Vista to be running on your computer before installing Windows 7. Full versions of Windows 7 don't require a previous version of Windows to be running on your computer. Both upgrade and full versions contain the same features. If you want to format your hard drive when installing Windows 7, you will need the full version. In general, choose the full version of Windows 7 if you don't have a previous version of Windows on your PC. Choose the upgrade version if you have Windows XP or Windows Vista on your PC.
Not a huge in itself, this however would bother me:
Question: What if I need to reinstall Windows 7 and only have an upgrade version?
If for some reason you need to reinstall Windows 7 and have the upgrade version you will be required to install a previous version of Windows before installing Windows 7.
So if you have an upgrade copy and wish to do a reinstall, you'll need to install XP/Vista again first...
