Anyone watching one of the rolling news channels? Strangest bit of news I've heard all year.

That balloon looks ****ed, spinning down at what looks to be quite a speed, half deflated.

edit - landed slow enough, wonder what the kids like?

They'd have seen him fall out.

I don't think this 6 year old even exists, in the balloon or not.

Balloon was in the air for 2 hours apparently, so it could have happened before anyone started following it.

His family have been on Wife Swap USA apparently, so he does exist - Falcon Heene is his name. Whether or not he's gone missing..well, I don't know that.

Balloon Boy's Parents 'Guilty Of Hoax'

Colorado police say they have evidence that the parents of a boy mistakenly believed to have been carried away by a helium balloon are guilty of a hoax.

At a news conference, Sheriff Jim Alderden said: "They put on a very good show for us, and we bought it."

The balloon would not have been able to carry the weight of six-year-old Falcon Heener, he added.

The six-year-old was feared to have been in a weather balloon which flew away on Thursday, but was later found safe at home.

Sheriff Alerden police will recommend Richard Heene and his wife face charges including conspiracy, contributing to the deliquency of a minor and false reporting to the authorities.
