I haven't flown in years, but have I got this right?

Hand luggage has restrictions on carrying liquids.. Depending on the airline etc?

Checked-in luggage for the hold has no liquid restrictions? So you can store things like shampoo bottles, deodorant etc in there without worry?

Yes, I believe that's right. Check the individual airline for hand luggage restrictions but you're fine for stuff going in the hold.

Doesn't depend on the airline, they check at security after passport control

No liquids past security (which is fine - just buy water the other side, saves carrying it to the airport and whatnot), and you can put all the usual stuff in suitcases, yes :)

Nope, you are allowed liquids as long as they are in bottles under 100ml (so having a half full 200ml bottle isn't allowed) and the bottles are in a clear re-sealable plastic bag no more than 20x20cm.

Hand luggage: Bottles/containers of no more than 100ml capacity (whether or not full). All such containers must fit in a clear plastic bag no larger than 15cm x 15cm (this may be wrong - please check). Such bag to be resealable, and fully sealed.

Hold luggage: Generally no restriction on amount but check prohibited items.

Thanks. Wasn't sure on that bit which is why I said to check. I've got a dedicated bag for the job so don't bother measuring. :)

I forgot to declare a gel deodorant in my hand luggage on a recent internal flight.

Does that make me a terrorist ?

Are you currently say in a cell wallpapered with SOCO brown paper?

If not, you soon will be. (I just read the protocol for dealing with terrorist prisoners  )
