View Full Version : On hold Music
Apparently it is Marketing's remit to find some new on hold music :/
Any suggestions of stuff you've liked being on hold to recently?

No, but I always get caught singing to it once the operator comes back!
Actually, can I request Killing In The Name by RATM please.
Heh heh.
The best Ive heard in a while was Maroon 5, but thats only cos I knew all the words and it put me in a better mood :D
Shed Seven - On Standby
KT Tunstall - Hold On
Pussycat Dolls - Wait A Minute
:D
Not sure if I liked it but I was on hold to the Fat Duck restaurant yesterday and it was reciting Alice in Wonderland, a bit odd but something different
Thanks guys. :)

Was once in full flow of Michael Jackson's Thriller when the operator came back on the phone. :o

Admiral seem to enjoy playing Can You Feel The Love Tonight when i'm on the phone to them. Everytime, without fail. I questioned one of them as to whether it's the only song they have, it's not, i'm just very unlucky.
Cheesey 80s tunes always a winner. Erasure - A little respect, now you just know you are going to catch everyone out when they are taken off hold :D

A little less conversation?
I'm sure you're aware of it, but make sure you either use royalty free stuff or ensure you pay the appropriate royalties.
Capital One used to have the Beatles 'Number Ones' album. Always put me in a good mood!

When I worked at Thomson and we had to manually authorise cards with Streamline they used Beautiful Day by U2 and Drive My Car by the Beatles. Always liked those.
When I worked at Sophos, they used Rondo Venezziano (sp?) just because the 2 owners liked it.

Sound advice on both counts. :)
See what I did there?
Edit - Fat Duck eh? Lucky you. Say 'Hi!' on the way past, and offer two fingers to the local HP office if you want (I know where it is). :)

Yes, I've heard about the waiting list there.
And that's some two fingers. Shame it had to come to that. :(
Back on topic, it seems there's a few companies that specialise in providing on hold music. Don't know if they would end up being cheaper than paying royalties for something more famous. Probably not as memorable though so you pays your money...

It's not what it you, it's who you know. Well in my case it's who you know who knows someone who knows someone.
It's well worth a visit though, the food is divine!
