******, **** carp and ****

Seems because I haven't logged into two of my hotmail accounts for over 30 days they now 'reserve' them... thus deleting all emails and stuff.

Gutted.

But to be honest, probably better off not knowing what emails are gone and who's addresses I have lost.

****ers.

Does logging onto msn count as "useage"? I'd hate to lose my email address! :embarassed:

/Logs in to Hotmail just in case.

I hardly use my Hotmail account but it comes in handy so I will have to try to remember to log in now and again.

No. One reason why I dumped my @hotmail email address years ago.

I always use my Hotmail addy, but if you dont want it to happen again, might be worth paying £15 for the updated version. I dont have many details to hand, but I did it the other day, and means I can access my emails via outlook as well :)

I only really use my Hotmail address for MSN but there were some emails in there from a few years ago that I would have liked to keep.

I suppose I should register a new MSN address, but it's a hassle to get contacts readded.

You don't need to use a hotmail address for msn, I don't. Just create an alias and pipe it to /dev/null so even if it gets spammed you won't notice.

This is the reason why I dumped Hotmail 2 years ago... Before that time you could access hotmail with any e-mail client you wanted and your mails were kept for ~six months. You could also pay £15 for the premium service which reserved your address, kept e-mails forever, gave larger storage etc...

Just the capitalist machine grinding again I suppose....

I use my own mail server. I have none of these problems :p
