View Full Version : I need something disposable for a flan/ cake to live in
It's actually a cheesecake type affair, biscuit based with creamy top, but I'm taking it somewhere that it might not all get eaten so I want a disposable sort of flan case. Does such a thing exist? I'm thinking like those disposable roating 'tins' you can get but about 20cm diameter.
Yes, we have one here, it's a foil one, exactly like the platters, but cake shaped/sized.
I think they have them in Costco but only in huuuuuuge amounts! Might be worth bugging a local cake shop/supermarket. Or.... buy a fruit pie and use the case off that?
Good plan. i've never seen them in supermarkets before, but in fairness I have never looked :p
Go to the baking section & look at the freshly baked pies & stuff - they usually come in them, so you get a nommy pie and a disposable 'tin' into the bargain! :D
Sainsburys sell them in packs of about 5. Pretty sure I've seen them.

Saw a disposable roasting tin in Tescos for £2.29 the other day :)

One word: Wilkinsons :)
Two words: Pound shop :)
Saw 9-for-£1 round foil cases in a local independant Wilkinsons-type shop an hour ago so worth a shot.
Got 5 for £1.80 from Tescos, don't have Wilkos or quid shops round here!!
All in good time - they'll make it eventually. :)
Glad you've got it sorted.
