Parent-friendly games

So it looks like I'm taking my Xbox360 round to the parents for Christmas. Well, it has to get used somehow. ;D

Now if I had a Wii, that would have made for some far easier choices, but I don't. So, I'm after parent-friendly games, though preferably ones I can carry on playing afterwards.

Full games, Arcade, Minigames, etc., they're all fine (I have plenty of points to use up, and I'm willing to trawl the high street for bargains). The console is unlikely to have a 'net connection (once I unplug it from here), so need to bear that in mind. I've got two wireless controllers already and might pick up a third.

Any suggestions very welcome. :)

Trivial Pursuit is excellent fun :) And you can pass a controller around rather than it requiring a controller for each player.
There's also the Scene It games which are great if you're movie buffs although obviously not so much otherwise!

Maybe something like Lego Indiana Jones? Pretty simple to get the hang of. :)

Ooh and Arcade game wise: Encleverment Experiment is a surprise hit here. Never heard of it till someone sent me a code but it's good fun.

I'll have a think for some more ideas. :)

I've got Lego Indie already and have never played it. :o

Not sure about Scene It! They'd be good at older movies for sure, but probably not so much recent ones. I'd be useless at them all. ;D

I've got Hexic and Bejeweled of course. They should work.

Will look out for Trivial Pursuit. Think they've got the board game somewhere so can't really go wrong there.

Scene It is aimed at more recent films so probably wise to avoid.

Trivial Pursuit seems your best bet, it's a really good version of it :)

I've taken my 360 to my parents a few times.

Lips always goes down well; we've bought a few oldie songs and it's amazing what people will do after a glass of wine or two (my parents duet of Ring of Fire was something else).

Scene It was ok but as mentioned there is a problem with newer movies.

My other recommendation may seem left field bit it's PGR4 (or PGR3). Everyone knows where they are when it comes to driving. I set up a London track and let everyone take turns to see how fast they could get round. It also gave everyone a chance to laugh at my mum trying to many many 3 point turns. Split screen goodness is also good fun.

Then there's a few arcade games. Peggle, Boom Boom Rocket, Geometry Wars 2, Pac Man CE, Feeding Frenzy 2, Uno, 3D Ultra Mini Golf have all gone well.

Will you be online? 1v100 always comes on when they visit me.

Don't think it'll be online. The TV is downstairs and the 'net is upstairs. I'd need a wi-fi adapter then and I object on principle to paying what Microsoft want for theirs.

Or use a netbook and share the connection with the Xbox by LAN.

Clumsy, but it works and is the method I use when I take the Xbox to my inlaws.

Possible. Parents have a laptop (old one of mine) and I've got a crossover cable. Wouldn't like to try that in-game though because the laptop has enough trouble connecting. :)

Going to get the Hasbro games pack, Trivial Pursuit, and an extra controller if I can find decent prices. Used up 3,000 points on Arcade games too (still got 5,000+ left).
