Well that will only take 10 of us posting 1 of each category; I'll get the ball rolling;-
1) Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time- Paul McCartney
2) Grease Lightning - OST
3) (Depending upon what you mean exactly by Rock'n'Roll) either... Hound Dog by Elvis or Don't Stop Believing by Journey
4) Paolo Nutini - Pencil Full of Lead (fun to dance to!) or Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon (for sing-a-long ability!)
Hope this helps in some way shape or form! :D

Yeh see I dont know what kind of rock and roll is meant here, I consider Boston (great song choice btw Creature!) more of a rock song!
I think of rock n roll as old school rock n roll with proper rock and roll dancing in the big skirts and teddy boys!

Well SCOM is presumably Sweet Child O'Mine? which, I agree, is more rock than rock 'n' roll. But I prefer the idea of a rock 'n' roll christmas (see #1) so I'll pick a rock 'n' roll song:
1) Gary Glitter - Another Rock and Roll Christmas (assuming it's still okay to play that)
2) S Club 7 - Don't Stop Movin' ;D
3) Little Richard - Good Golly Miss Molly
4) The Saturdays - Up
4) Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling
Dude, too slow.... See the post directly above yours.

Thanks all for the feedback :) Briggy you are right with this. I so far have SCOM, Livin on a Prayer and Summer of 69.
Rock Christmas songs can be covered in the 'Christmas' section :)
The story is.. am organising the Christmas party this friday. Last friday I was told that the woman who is helping me organise it has been signed off next week with Swine Flu :/ so I have to organise everything!
We have booked a band, that finishes at 11pm. So I will need 2hrs more music and thought this would be the best way to get a track list.
The guy at the bar said that if I stick them all on an ipod it will play over the sound system... the only issue I have with this is that the songs will stop rather than be mixed in like a DJ would... but can't be helped.
One problem is that I don't have an ipod, but I can use cds... but not sure whether to mix them all in or have all the songs in one category together... hmm..
Thanks everyone! :D

So do we need to re-do our number 3s?
I'd mix them all up rather than play by category.

Check if the ipod or whatever you end up using has any sort of crossfader options built in :)
2 second crossover should keep people happy :D
As for songs I'm gonna try not to go too wierd :p
For the 'Rock' section consider some Feeder (Just a Day?)/Foo Fighters (Monkey Wrench works a charm :D) and possibly some Blink 182?
Also never forget Green Day! Nothing quite like Minority after something a bit slower :> (Time of Your Life - pure cheese :D)
Just for the sheer hell of it drop Back in Black in there too :D
No good forthe rest of the genres so I'll be quiet now :D
Thanks Guys. :)
Have another new category - think I am getting a bit carried away now.
