Yep this is going to be good, they have never failed on these special episodes yet.
Vietnam, Polar, Africa, american :D, now Bolivia
MOTORING: Top Gear
On: BBC HD (143)
Date: Sunday 27th December 2009 (starting in 2 hours and 6 minutes)
Time: 19:45 to 21:00 (1 hour and 15 minutes long)
Bolivia Special.
Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are dropped deep in the Bolivian rainforest armed only with three 4x4s which they bought from the local small ads for a maximum of 3500 pounds each. They attempt to drive from the heart of Bolivia to the coast of Chile, encountering drug lords and the debilitating effects of high altitude. But before that, they've got to escape from the deep centre of the rainforest in what is without doubt the toughest challenge Top Gear has ever faced.
(Stereo, Widescreen, High Definition, Subtitles, 4 Star)

Vietnam, Polar, Africa, american :D, now BoliviaPretty much my thinking. Am I right in saying only the Polar special is out on Bluray? They really ought to do a Top Gear Specials Bluray pack with Vietnam, Polar, Africa, American and Bolivian episodes. They'd surely clean up with the inevitable sales that pack would generate.

It's not to bad so far :D
LMFAO at the tampex, durex, vaseline and viagra :D
You notice they've all got bloody great winches on the front of their cars, I bet they weren't there when they were bought but were fitted especially.
/edit - How was that for premonition!
That was bloody fantastic.
That was absolutely epic

Did you miss the bit at the start where they were given the box of goodies, including winches? :p

Really enjoyed it, that road of death was just mental!
The cynic in me though thinks that Hammonds car fell over "accidently on purpose" ;)

Yea, I thought he pushed it when he got out to speak to Jeremy :P

Would you want to go down that dune with just 2 wheel drive? Producers probably decided that it was just too dangerous (poor donkey :p )
I enjoyed it, stark contrast to the rest of the current series which has been absolutely woeful.

Really enjoyed the series, especially the part where James loses the plot with Jeremy.
Barely seen any of the new series. Caught a bit of this special and seeing Hammond get out of his car and "accidentally" leave the handbrake off is just not funny any more ::/:
Turned it off after that.
I thought that was a bit lame but seeing Clarkson & May go down that stupidly high mountain at about 45 degrees was something. Also the bit where Clarkson has to pass another car was nail biting.

Assuming it wasn't all set up. Admittedly I've not seen it so can't really comment, but this is how these things ruin the show for me. I can't enjoy it as I'm just wondering what's real and what isn't.
People read way too much into it sometimes, do people sit and ultra analyse every single program they watch on TV?

Yer I know what you mean. Camera angles often give away the script. That bit seemed very real.

Nope. Some people are just aware of these things. The digger falling over in the groundforce special thing. Blatently obvious that would happen due to the camera angle.

I don't analyse it at all really. It just makes me want to turn it off.
Fake stunts that are trying to be portrayed as genuine just doesn't really entertain me.
I just take it for what it is, some bits are less entertaining when they're too blatant but tbh half the time you read about TG online it's like some sort of competition of who thinks TG is the worst, who spotted the most scripted bits etc. etc.
I've never seen anything quite like it for any other TV show or even movie.
i really enjoyed that special - was like the (ant?)Arctic one. Absolutely brilliant, and far less contrived than a lot of the series. The bit that Pete mentioned had me literally holding my breath it was superb!!
